I travel a lot and it doesn’t get better than this in terms of service, attention to detail, cleanliness, views and restaurant quality in Umbria. Not to mention their wine which is truly special and made by the property’s passionate owner.
Our room carried a rustic charm, was very comfortable with an outstanding balcony view of the lake and Umbrian hills. Photos do not do it justice. The food is the best we’ve had in regional Italy - the menu is not pretentious yet still refined. It’s a 20 minute drive to the nearest store and a 2km unpaved road - which may sound a little challenging to some - but that’s the point; you’re far from busy roads and high over a wonderful, sweeping vista. Perfect spot for exploring Castiglione del Lago and Cortona. Highly recommend.

Die Unterkunft überzeugt mit einem traumhaften Ausblick und einer wunderschönen, sehr gepflegten Anlage. Das Frühstück ist gut, das Restaurant bietet ausgezeichnete Speisen. Das Personal ist freundlich und engagiert. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Hundefreundlichkeit. Hunde sind überall willkommen. Zudem ist das Appartement hervorragend ausgestattet und ermöglicht eine unkomplizierte Selbstversorgung.
Die Sauberkeit des Appartements entsprach leider nicht ganz unseren Erwartungen. Auch während unseres Aufenthalts gab es keine regelmäßige Reinigung. Lediglich einmal und nur auf Anfrage.
Darüber hinaus kam es während unseres Aufenthalts zu einer erheblichen Lärmbelästigung. Auf der direkt angrenzenden Terrasse fand eine Geburtstagsfeier statt, die bis ca. 1:30 Uhr nachts andauerte. Die Lautstärke war deutlich wahrnehmbar und beeinträchtigte die Nachtruhe erheblich.

Comfy beds, AC, plentiful breakfast, lovely staff, peaceful location and great pool.
A little hard to get to—but it’s worth it for the peace and quiet.
