It should be renovated ( especially bathroom and kitchen) as they seem really “outdated”

There are lots of fantastic things here: The we had fun playing pool, anyway. The dishwasher and washer/dryer were loud, but worked really well. The location is the bomb. Great cafes, bars, restaurants everywhere. 5th floor, but with an ELEVATOR. Very safe building.

Having read the reviews, I knew what awaited us. I was also surprised by all the good things. This location is not for everyone. Definitely not for the faint of heart. Avoid this if you are picky, snobby, or generally annoyed by discomfort. This location is for you IF you begin by reducing (or eliminating) your expectations and can answer yes to the following: Am I willing to welcome the army of ants that crawl out at night from the hole in the wall below the kitchen window if I happen to leave food out? Does it bring me joy to have to have to go all all the way down to the ground floor to open the door if someone rings the bell because the doorbell does not work in either direction? Does it bother me that, if I would like to shower, I would need to kneel under the water heater that is screwed into the wall? Do I care that the promised dart board is unusable due to broken darts? Or that the pool table is covered in rips and questionable stains? Am I okay with linoleum and wood splinters on the soles of my feet? There were definitely some compromises.
