Villa Casa Karoline with a sunny terrace, heated pool, comfort and privacy in a quiet neighborhood

The villa was exceptionally clean inside and presented to a very high standard. The décor was attractive and welcoming, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms were great, with excellent showers. The kitchen was one of the best-equipped we have experienced in a holiday rental, with high-quality appliances, good cookware and plenty of utensils. The utility room was also very useful. Communication from Sofia was prompt, polite and responsive throughout our stay, and when issues were raised they were addressed quickly. There was no information in the villa description that there was a lovely communal pool across the road within the complex which was excellent and we used this on the first day to cool off as we were unable to use the villa pool. There was a very comprehensive guide and instructions for the villa which was very helpful.

The outdoor areas had not been prepared to the same standard as the interior. The pool was green and contained debris on arrival, and everything in the pool area covered in a thick layer of dust and needed cleaning before use. We were aware that there was a Calima the week before but this area did not seem to have been cleaned since. Although the pool man was excellent and responded quickly after we raised concerns, we did not feel able to use the pool for the first two days, and dust remained present in it throughout our stay. It was 36°C when we arrived which we were not expecting as have been to Lanzarote many times. We knew there was no air conditioning, but the fans provided were not sufficient, and there was initially no fan in the second bedroom. An additional fan was supplied the next day after we raised this with the owners, but the villa remained very warm. The fans were noisy and ineffective, and the metal shutters became extremely hot as they were in direct sunlight all day, appearing to trap heat in the gap between the shutters and doors and radiate back into the bedrooms. Our sleep was disturbed, especially the first few days. we had to choose between the heat or opening windows and doors for air to circulate but this brought in mosquitos. The communal pool we found was locked every day after our first visit despite signage stating it was available to villa owners and guests, and we were not provided with a key. We also found the location less convenient than expected, with part of the walk to shops and restaurants crossing unlit waste ground which was unpleasant at night. Storage space was limited because much of the wardrobe space was locked. We were also concerned that only one set of keys was provided for a villa with three external doors. As all doors needed to remain locked for security, this could present a safety issue in an emergency, particularly at night if occupants needed to exit quickly from different parts of the villa.

The villa was perfect. A great size, very clean, very well equipped and very peaceful. Equipment in the kitchen was exceptional: air fryer, coffee machine, dishwasher etc. The booklet on how to operate everything and local sights (in a multiple languages with photos) was incredibly useful. The pool was very warm and clean, even on a cold day. Close to some good restaurants and local shops. Parking next to the villa.

Unexpected couple appeared, unannounced at the private pool to clean it twice during our 5 night stay. Both with newly lit cigarettes smelling out the area. Parking a bit tight to get in and out of

Absolutamente, todo: está un poco alejado de todo. Necesitas coche. La villa es maravillosa y con todo lo necesario.

Cogimos una ola de calor importante: echamos en falta el a/c. Tiene dos ventiladores pero muy ruidosos y no permiten dormir.

Nice outside space. Liked the roll down blinds and the sunbeds. Very well equipped. Comfortable bed, better quality pillows and cotton sheets would be nice. Good smart TV. No Aircon wasn't a problem in February, but it could get chilly at night. Overall very good, great Comms from the owner. Thanks, we will be back.
