Wilderness Lodge

Location once at the lodge was beautiful. Views and peaceful. Adequate kitchen appliances and bathroom toiletries

Bathroom, no anti slip in shower. Fridge needs upgrade for ice box. One sofa smell of possibly dog. For more persons there is no bedroom screening as shows in photos. The hill is not adequately reflected as to how steep. Local lanes are very narrow with few passing places.

The uniqueness and tranquility of the location, were our main takeaways from our stay at Wilderness Lodge. It offers a delightful place to stay, with everything you need to feel right at home. The views are stunning and are made to be enjoyed. The property is completely private and not overlooked by anyone. Wished we’d found this place sooner!!

The only downside is the walk up to the lodge. It’s only about 50 yards, but it is up hill and can get quite steep at towards the top. But the place is well worth that small trek, so don’t let it put you off.

It feels very peaceful and private but is within reasonable distance of local facilities, shops etc. It was very clean and even on a particularly hot weekend you stay nice and cool because of the position of the property being built into the earth. It felt very nicely designed and is big enough for a couple or small family. The views are absolutely stunning and sitting on the deck is an absolute treat, there's a covered area so you're not right in the sun. Idyllic. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend to anyone, but would advise it may not be accessible if you are not able to walk with your luggage up a steep, grassed-over track.

The curtain rail around the bed nook was damaged and so only one curtain was working so as others have said when it's an early sunrise prepare to be woken up! The deck is also in need of repair ideally as a couple of times I nearly went for a little trip but fortunately managed to stop myself! I would still very highly rate this property but consider before booking if this would meet your needs.

Brilliant location, really tranquil, off the grid kind of stay.

The cleanliness. Put me off making food here. It’s almost like there was a lot of effort put into the build, but not much into retaining it. This would put me off staying again…which is something I read on other reviews but thought people can be nit picky. I don’t actually receive any instructions on finding it, maybe a simple sign but benefit people’s struggles. Drive past the main house, and take your first right up a freshly concreted slope. My 4x4 wouldn’t make it up the bank so we parked at the bottom and just walked up.
