About this house rental
This is our year-round house, built 2015, on 5.7 acres. located on a gentle bluff 100' from the west shore of Deep Bottom Cove.
We built on one level with wheelchair width doors and an accessible shower as we plan to grow old on this cove.
We wade and swim right here, or sail, paddle or row from our 1,500' feet of private shoreline. Sometimes we just sit and enjoy the natural stillness and wildlife. To reach ocean waves, sail, row or kayak 1 to 1.2 miles across Tisbury Great Pond to South Beach. Or drive to other nearby beaches.
Fall asleep with the sound of the ocean, unless you prefer to use the AC.
Our contemporary style house features wide woods and waterfront views, single-level living open floor plan, Baltic birch custom cabinets, spacious well-equipped kitchen with two full sinks, hardwood ash floors.
It sleeps 6 (1 queen, 1 double, 2 twin beds) in 3 bedrooms with 2 baths. The deck features a gas grill, furniture, and an enclosed outdoor shower.

Felicity and Joel are lifelong seasonal island residents and have built the ideal refuge on Tisbury Great Pond. The house is tasteful, perfectly equipped and fully modern. It is nestled in the trees with picture windows overlooking the pond, so you wake up in the master bed with a view of the water and possibly swans, herons, cranes or gulls passing by, and have the same glorious view from the kitchen and living areas.
They thoughtfully set us up with a canoe and a pair of kayaks so we could explore the pond and reach the ocean-facing barrier beach. The kids had a blast mucking around on the edge of the pond and riding in the canoe.
The house is about 5 minutes drive down a dirt road off of West Tisbury - Edgartown Rd, so there is a modest barrier to the rest of the island but it is actually pretty centrally located once you reach the main road. We also used a bicycle with child seats to go places and that worked great too. The airport is nearby and planes often do their final descents over the pond, but there's minimal plane traffic early or late in the day or at night.
Our hosts were staying nearby and very accessible for any requests. We felt very privileged to enjoy their unique slice of paradise during our stay.

Felicity and Joel are a lovely people and they have a lovely home.
The view of the pond is outstanding and the short path to the shore led us to their kayaks, our rented boat with small outboard and fishing and swimming. And crabbing- though I was not successful! Thank you!

We had the most lovely week at Joel and Felicity’s beautiful home. Waking up every morning to views of Deep Bottom Cove was a magical way to start each day and catching the sunset in the evenings and the stars at night made for the perfect end to the day. We and our children (8, 12, and 14) loved taking the kayaks and canoe out to Tisbury Great Pond and exploring the area - finding all sorts of animal prints in the sand and shells along the water. Joel and Felicity were very responsive and the house had everything we needed. What a great week!
