About this house rental
You have a beautiful view of the picturesque village of Villars, which is about a 15-minute walk away. Villars itself has two restaurants, a country bistro, and a bakery that still bakes its baguettes and croissants the traditional way in a stone oven. In April, when the cherry trees are in bloom, you can enjoy an enchanting landscape. Then, in June and early July, you can enjoy the fruit. In front of the front door is a lovely terrace with a dining area, a built-in grill, and a leafy pergola where you can enjoy your summer evenings. On the east side of the building is a second terrace with another pergola, sheltered from the wind and sun. Parking is available on the property, in front of the house.
This is a historic stone farm building, known as a “cabanon.” In the agricultural and wine-growing regions of the past, every household had a small cabanon in the middle of the fields. Tools were stored there, and people would take shelter inside when a storm threatened or the sun was too strong. Provençal farmers often used their cabanons to have lunch during the day to avoid the long walk back to the family home. Sometimes, they would also spend the night there. Today, these cabanons are highly sought after because they are often renovated, like this one, to serve as small vacation homes.

You enter your home through the terrace and find yourself in the cozy little living room with a fireplace and television. This is also where you’ll find the practically equipped kitchenette and the dining table.
On the first floor, you’ll find the open-concept bedroom, the modern and tastefully decorated bathroom, and a separate toilet.
Annex
You enter the annex—completed in 2023—through a separate entrance; it includes another bedroom. From there, you can access the bathroom through a sliding door.
The vacation home is equipped with an alarm system.
It is heated by electric radiators.
The nearest supermarket is 8 km from the house.

We spent a lovely week here in this tiny house which is perfect for two or even four people.It is well equipped, apart from not having an electric kettle. We went out and bought one.However, you can just boil up water in a saucepan!The kitchen is adequate although there is nowhere to store any food you buy, except for the refrigerator.There are instructions in a file but these are all in German which is understandable as the owner is German but it would be helpful to have them copied in either French or English especially if the property is being advertised in the UK.The bedroom has hanging space for clothes and a good shower in the bathroom with plenty of hot water. The double bed is extremely comfortable and has a memory foam mattress.Outside there is a lovely area to sit and take meals and sun beds are available on the decking by the lovely, well maintained pool.If the weather is inclement, there is nowhere really comfortable to sit inside the property but hopefully the sun will shine all the time and you won’t need to!We really enjoyed our week in this little house that is set back off the road and looks out over a vineyard and the hills beyond.We would have given it five stars if it hadn’t been for the constant traffic noise which made our stay not quite as peaceful as we were hoping for.
