The Partridge, Stretton

A beautiful building that was tastefully decorated, felt luxurious. The rooms were large and both bed and pillows very comfy. It was a convenient loaction as we were attending a wedding in a nearby village. It had a relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly.

No fan in the bedroom and couldnt have the windows open at night due to the noise from the nearby motorway traffic. We were in room 8 which was opposite a private storage area which had fans running all night. The towels had not been checked when putting out and one had dirty marks (of a biological nature) on which was not pleasant. The food was not at the standard expected for the prices charged. Eg: A slice of toasted sourdough with avocado and a poached egg: was not fresh avocado (processed, like you have on nachos, sloppy with garlic powder in etc), the 'poached' egg was solid and served withought any garnish (£9). We left feeling a bit disappointed.

We chose it for convenient location for our travels but it far exceeded our usual ‘journey pit stop’. Lovely building, plenty of secure parking , it was spotlessly clean. And the staff were exceptionally pleasant.

We were attending a wedding near by we booked in which was so easy and quick then shown to our room which was lovely thevstaff we're really helpful and friendly thevfolliwing morning the breakfast was really good value and nice and hot I would recommend

There were nice touches in the rooms books, biscuits tea coffee nice décor. and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and reasonable price. Dessert on the evening was nice

The food in the restaurant was very average - prawns tasteless, pate was poor quality, and the Duck wantons rather sweet for my taste. Breakfast on the second day eggs were very undercooked, but I could not be bothered to make a fuss. Although our room was mostly fine there is a problem with the drainage and some members of our party had to change rooms due to the smell which to be fair was accommodated well by staff and our room on the last morning had a bad odour. I did think it was expensive for a pub hotel.
