Hotel Kandilj

The team are so welcoming. It’s like staying with family. Every day involved enjoying Bosnian coffee and a chat in the beautiful courtyard. Every member of staff is a credit to this small, independent hotel. The location of Kandilj is perfect. Under five minutes to walk into the Old Town across the Latin Bridge.

The staff are exceptional. Lovely local people that make all guests very welcome. Staff always appeared very attentive to customers and made us feel extremely welcome. Really enjoyed the conversations and will definitely go back. The breakfast is more than adequate and staff always happy to cook you an omelette and do a nice coffee. Sarajevo itself is an excellent and interesting place to visit and the hotel itself is well situated for easy access into the main areas of the Old Town. Thank you to all the staff for ensuring we had a lovely time in Sarajevo.

Can't think of any negatives.

The staff was amazing and super friendly. We got to connect and spend a lot of time with them talking about pretty much everything in the small courtyard. The location is great, just a short walk to the Old Town. The room was clean and the breakfast was amazing!

It’s not ideal for those expecting a luxurious or very extensive breakfast; however, for guests looking for a local, clean, quiet, and genuinely warm morning breakfast, it is quite satisfying.

The bathroom did not seem well maintained: there was a noticeable lack of detailed cleaning, especially in the tile grout, shower area, and around the sink. Both the room and the bathroom lacked the fresh feeling of having been newly cleaned. Although the towels were clean, the room was not serviced during the day despite placing the “please clean” sign. Despite the hotel’s warm and friendly atmosphere, it is clear that a more regular and thorough cleaning standard is needed for both the room and the bathroom.
