There's convenient onsite parking, so you can leave your vehicle behind and let your feet make short work of the 6-minute walk to Plage de la Conche des Baleines or the 13-minute walk to Phare des Baleines.

Le Gillieux was the perfect choice for our short 3 night stay on the Il-de-Re. Perfectly situated for access to one of the island's best beaches and the Lighthouse, restaurants & cafes. The house suited us perfectly too; it was clean and very well appointed - comfortable living space, quiet & private outside space. Beds were also comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and modern. I would highly recommend this house to anyone thinking of staying at the end of the island. The only things I can say that weren't as perfect as the house, was having to either bring your own bed linen or rent it (which can be easily arranged through the owner/housekeeper) - and also the parking. I managed to avoid a ticket (just! The policeman was very helpful!) and finding overnight parking nearby isn't the easiest, and roughly 200m away. Otherwise, a really enjoyable couple of days on the island.

Maison chaleureue, lumineuse. Un endroit calme ou le poele en hivers permet de passer des moments très confortables dans le séjour et dans les canapés
