Homely Málaga Refino 1-I6 y bajo E5

This apartment is modern , clean, stylishly furnished and in a very central location. It's a 20min walk to the beach or less than 10min into Málaga Old Town. There are lots of supermarkets and food places within a couple minutes walk. There is AC in the living area and the bedroom which is helpful because we had a child sleeping on the sofa bed. Large storage areas for clothing and also for toiletries in the bathroom. A full length mirror in the bedroom. Well placed electrical sockets everywhere and accessible Iron/Board, hairdryer and good quality toiletries and selection of towels for 3 people. Good WiFi and kitchen facilities. Large fridge and small freezer for use as well as a washing machine. Crockery is provided. Shower was nice and powerful. Lots of good lighting throughout including bedside lamps. Contact with owners was easy with regards to any questions I had. They also helpfully set up the sofa bed on request before we got there so we didn't have to stress about it late at night. TV is easy to use and we managed to get our Netflix account on it to watch movies.

We arrived at 1am and struggled to find our way round a bit. It was dark and there are slopes and small steps throughout the main building that are not noticeable so we nearly tripped and nearly fell a few times. We didn't realise in the dark the pin code is to be put into the door handle but got there in the end. Once you figure it out it's actually quite easy and accessible. Along with a manual pin code, there is also an online key and a physical magnetic key which is helpful. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable for our son and he struggled to sleep every night. The pillows were also not very comfortable on both beds. The mattress was very good though, just pillows an issue. The toilet seat is a little loose and needs tightening. We were disturbed 2 days in a row about changing the battery on the door to get in. These were both unexpected visits that disturbed us, although both people were polite and apologetic -it wasn't ideal but not the end of the world.

The apartment has a great location, near the old town. The building is nicely sheltered from the sun, has great views from the rooftop pool, and it was great that we could cook our own breakfasts with the two hobs provided. Having two rooms was a really good thing.

It was a bit confusing following the instructions to get in, before we were able to pick up the keys.

The rooftop pool area is tired. Not really enough beds and the existing beds are hard plastic and many are cracked and broken.

It was in a great location, and cheap & cheerful for the couple of nights. Defo wouldn’t recommend to stay for long term. The pool closing mid day for a couple of hours is not told when you book and is so odd

Collecting the keys was an easy process - I always throw my eyes up at reviews about this as I think people don’t read instructions correctly but in this case, the instructions giving were missing pieces which were very important ie what door to enter the premises through!
