Parking situation – be prepared!!!

The concept and the facility is really great. I had a good experience except parking and the behavior of the receptionist later in the day. The room was very well decorated, for 1-2 days to even more everything was inside. The staff was really nice as i said up to one person!!!

I’d like to share my experience with the parking, so future guests can be better prepared. I arrived late on Friday around 9 p.m. There are a few parking spots right next to the facility, reserved for Hood House guests, on that time no free spots. I was offered a garage parking space instead, which is about a 4-minute walk around the corner. The garage is not well maintained, rented most probably from the house next to it. But I parked there overnight, else i have to park on the street. Since I was traveling with my family and using the car the next day, I park the next day closer to the facility to reserved area. Later that evening, just as I was getting into a taxi to go to an event, reception called and insisted that I move my car back to the garage immediately. Luckily i was there, what would be happened, if i already was away:) Even though I had already paid for parking (€23 per night) and was told earlier that I could use the outside spaces when available, the staff member was rude and even threatened to let tow my car away and even call the police if I didn’t move the car. I explained my situation and offered to move it later that night, but there was no flexibility at all. In the end, because i don't like to waste my time and i am in a hurry, I moved the car back to the garage, paid extra for the waiting taxi, and missed part of my evening. The hotel itself is nice, but the parking policy and staff attitude really need improvement. No one can threat the customers like that, if i have more time and not in a hurry, the story would be much different. I never have such a attitude anywhere else, i may become an apologise from the management, which i write separate and claim about the situation.

The location was perfect. It was beautiful with all the canals around and very quiet. Right outside was the bus stop that took you to the city center. The rooms were clean and spacious.

I left something in my room at check-out. I realised this a few hours later and returned to the hotel. front desk staff seemed unwilling to make an effort to look for my item, even if I knew it had to have been found by the cleaning staff after I left. I felt that if they had wanted to, they could have made more of an effort instead of telling me to call them the day after. indeed, the next day when I called the hotel my item had been found. but because I had left the city, I had to make complicated arrangements to have it shipped. all of that could have been avoided if the cleaning staff has immediately informed the front desk and if the front desk had been willing to look for it.

Nice room, comfortable bed, cool area The Indian restaurant downstairs is great!

The windows barely open and there's no AC. If you are a light sleeper, don't book the cheapest category because all of those rooms face on to the street and it's very loud. A member of staff told me it's not bad, but I challenge her to sleep a night in the hotel she works in 😅 Also you can't even pay for a late check-out.

We loved Hood House! My son and I were recently there because we went to see Beyonce! The location of the hotel was perfect - so tranquil and serene, great restaurants, shops, and a supermarket nearby. We would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat - and longer - to explore the beautiful city of Hamburg! Also, the staff was incredibly helpful - giving us easy bus transportation directions to attend the concert.

Nothing! The only thing I would change is the air ventilation in the room. It was a bit stifling as the temperatures were quite hot during our stay.

The location was very convenient for me, because I went to a meeting at Kampnagel, which is nearby. There were always bikes/scooters for rent around the entrance.

It could have been a bit quieter in the room. The walls are not very isolated, but they are ok. The ramp in front of the hotel is very steep.

The hotel is very stylish and well-kept. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious and nicely furnished. The general atmosphere is welcoming and cosy.

The breakfast was delicious, but service needs to be improved. I was on a business trip, and I had to wait over 15 minutes for my food to be served. Had I not been on a business trip, it would have been fine, but I was unable to finish my breakfast as I had to rush out.

We‘ll definitely be back

This was our third time staying at Hood House and it never disappoints. It’s in a great area of Hamburg, which we know well as we used to live there. The rooms are comfortable with great bathrooms and Bluetooth speakers. The gym is well equipped and never seems to get busy. The coffee shop below does great coffee and breakfast. The wifi is great so it’s easy to work from. As a bonus it’s nice and close to the Alster; so perfect for running. We‘ll definitely be back soon.

The beds were quite confortable. Location was pretty good, in a nice place and easy to get to the city center. It was fine for the price, compared to the other places we saw in Hamburg.

Room was a bit small. Could not open the window. Could have some more kitchen utensils (like sponge or soap).

Hotel is walking distance of all. Never had to drive anywhere if needed. Definitely worth the stay if you are travelling and want to have a good time. Would definitely recommend the hotel for anyone.
