Mardanza Exclusive

This has genuinely been the best villa I’ve ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, everything about the place felt special. The tranquility and peace surrounding the villa, waking up every morning to the most incredible view of the sea, and having that sense of complete privacy made our stay feel almost surreal. It was honestly something out of this world. The villa itself was absolutely immaculate. I loved the way it combined the natural, traditional feel of an old Santorini cave with a beautiful, modern and luxurious interior. Everything felt so thoughtfully designed, clean and comfortable. And the outdoor pool… it was everything I didn’t know I needed. Spending time there, looking out over the sea and simply enjoying the quiet was one of my favourite parts of the whole trip. A special mention has to go to Veronica, the villa manager, who completely exceeded our expectations. She was incredibly kind, warm and helpful throughout our entire stay. She helped us arrange our airport transfers and car hire, found us a reliable quad/ATV company, recommended some fantastic restaurants and was always available whenever we needed anything. She genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience, and I couldn’t be more grateful. There are places you stay in, and then there are places that become part of the memory of your trip. Mardanza was definitely the latter for us. If you’re looking for somewhere beautiful, peaceful, private and truly special to stay in Santorini, I could not recommend Mardanza more highly. We absolutely loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat. 🤍

The villa was amazing and very clean. Our own pool at the villa was great also.

The distance from everything. Recommend hiring a car or ATV to get to places easily otherwise transport will cost anywhere from €30 to €50 per trip.

Massive Space: The private pool villa is a generous 150 sq.m. with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It was incredibly spacious and comfortable for the whole family—never felt cramped. Heated Private Pool: The absolute highlight! The pool was perfectly set at 29°C. Soaking in the warm water at night while enjoying the chilly Santorini breeze was pure bliss. 🌌 Great Amenities & Service: The villa host was amazingly attentive. The shower water pressure was fantastic (a huge plus!), and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable for uploading photos. Safe Parking: It comes with a secure parking spot for our rental car, which gave us peace of mind.

The only downside is that the entrance/exit road is quite steep. Driving up and down requires a bit of skill and caution.

We arrived with great anticipation at 4 pm, only to discover that no one is available to greet guests between 3 and 6 pm. Eventually someone did help carry our bags up to the room, but they couldn’t advise us on where to find food or supplies. With no restaurants nearby and most of the activity happening on the other side of the island, this made things quite challenging. When we reached out to the host, the first response was simply to “read the information in the link,” which felt unhelpful in the moment. Another disappointment was the view. The listing photos gave us the impression we’d be enjoying sunsets, but the property actually faces east—sunrise only. While that was ultimately our oversight for not double-checking, it was still very disappointing compared to what we expected. On the positive side, the accommodation itself is premium. The private plunge pool and comfortable amenities were excellent, and breakfast served outside our room in the morning sun was a lovely touch (though this wasn’t clearly explained in advance). The biggest issue for us, however, was accessibility. We are not young or especially fit, and walking 800 m up a 10% grade plus another 1.5 km to the nearest supermarket was simply not realistic. When we expressed this to the host, the response came across as defensive rather than understanding. In the end, while the accommodation was high quality, the overall experience felt more like dealing with a business than enjoying a relaxing holiday.
