Unbelievable setting - between two mountains in a beautiful garden next to the Table mountain national park. An isolated oasis in the city! The accommodation (chalet's) were as per foto's - comfortable, clean and pleasant.
Not something you can change, staircase to upstairs bedrooms are very steap

Breakfast is not applicable as it is self-catering. That was the heading for this box when I started it ie did I like the breakfast. It has changed to what did I like! This is now what I didn't like. Some attention should be paid to the very wobbly cleaning cupboard and the always collapsing drying rack. The inside drum of the washing machine seems to have a metal object, possibly a coin, in it and makes quite a racket on spinning. The top floating shelf at the TV is hanging at an angle. The mattress on the single bed at the window is really poor. OK for a small child but not good for a teenager or adult. The drain of the downstairs shower was completely blocked. I cleaned it: the filter was full of hair and sludge and the sludge was all around the metal box as well as the sides of the rectangular inlet. So I cleaned that thoroughly as well. When we left, it was still clean so that had built up over weeks. I am not complaining as I realise how hard it is to have oversight of everything but if people do not point out things, they can't be attended to and get worse. Overall, we had a lovely holiday!
It's more of a question of how could the experience be improved? The above Box Heading changed but I cannot now swap these comments. Place a folder with pamphlets of Cape attractions, the nearest shopping centres (for the self-catering aspect) and maps in the cottage: I have left a few and hope that this can be added to by the Host. We know Cape Town very well but people who do not, especially foreign tourists, would certainly like looking at these. Cape Town and environs are so full of all kinds of things to do in every direction from this beautiful location, for adults or families with little children or teenagers. Cape Town is not that easy to navigate if you are unfamiliar with the various access roads, Waze and Google maps notwithstanding. A kind note of advice for people that in Cape Town distance is often measured in the time it takes to get to places instead of kilometers at certain times of the day would be good. in all the previous places we have stayed there have been information folders for visitors.

The estate has a tranquil setting, with a mountain backdrop and is situated close to Hout Bay. Lovely to see some antelope walking freely on the estate. The estate is well maintained, and there is good security. Check-in was easy, Ross was prompt with his responses to our questions, and even accommodated us for an early check-in.
We booked 2x 6-sleeper units for a family weekend in Cape Town. Unit 9 Rosewood lived up to the description and pictures on the websites, it was modern and well-appointed. It had a good living and lounge area with a fireplace which we used every night. Good value, and we would recommend this unit! Unit 6 Oregon Pine, unfortunately, this unit was a disappointment. Although similarly priced to the other unit we booked, it looked and felt basic, somewhat ‘run-down’ and dated (not a great living area, and not enough seating - the only couch, a 2-seater, was sunken). There was also an electricity failure with the inverter electricity system on the last day of our stay, and it could not be restored for our remaining stay (our host Ross and we tried all options as best, but no joy). This was a bit of a disappointment as there was insufficient lighting that afternoon/evening and there was only one working plug point to charge our phones etc. Ross was able to offer us some additional latten torches which helped in the circumstances.
