It was noisier than we expected, but it did quiet down at 12 am. The beds and pillows could be of better quality. Breakfast was disappointing. Only sliced sandwich bread, very little fresh fruit, artificial orange juice…

Standards remain very high.

Consistently high standards are expected at the Montemar. They don't disappoint. The staff work tirelessly to ensure your stay is all you wish for. Rooms cleaned daily is much appreciated and its done with a smile. The service from Dani is fabulous and Pilli and Maria in the dining room are a credit to the hotel. Roberto and Karina in reception are super friendly and always smiling.

A fantastic family run hotel!

Just returned after staying 5 nights at this hotel. It is located in a fantastic position on the sea front on the quieter Spanish side of Benidorm, literally 3 minutes walk from the old town. The hotel itself is a little hidden gem! Excellent facilities, very comfortable room and bed! I was in room 420 at the back but still had a small balcony so I could nip out for a cheeky vape! :-) The bathroom was very modern and looked to be brand new with a full walk-in shower with excellent water pressure and constant hot water. The housekeeping team did an excellent job servicing the room daily - everything fully cleaned and immaculate when you returned to your room! Almost as if they were preparing it for a new guest. Breakfast was good with a wide choice of both hot and cold food. Staff in the breakfast room were smiling and friendly. Reception staff were also excellent, always greeting you as you went in and out, asking if everything was okay with a welcoming smile - gracias Roberto and Karina :-) Also, thank you Karina for trying to teach me Spanish at 1 o'clock in the morning! The night before I checked out Karina phoned my room to ask about my stay. She asked whether I was checking out before breakfast (I wasn't leaving until 12). I asked if this was a problem but it wasn't. She simply wanted to know whether they needed to prepare me a breakfast picnic to take with me! What a kind offer, You don't get that in huge anonymous hotels. If you visit don't miss the rooftop terrace on the 6th floor.. fabulous views of Poniente beach with a small bar - a quiet haven from busy Benidorm. This is still a family run hotel as it has been since it was built and the welcome you will receive reflects that. To sum up I don't really want you to book it.. I want to keep it a secret for myself! :-) I'll definitely stay here again when I next visit Benidorm! Muchos gracias Hotel Montemar.

There wasn't anything I disliked about this place. Only a small suggestion - perhaps tea/coffee in the room? We Brits love our cup of tea before we get up and face the world. :-)

Good but not as good as Hotel Voramar

Was lucky to be able to check-in to room at 11.30am even though we only went to leave a bag. Staff excellent. Location is brilliant and room very quiet even though it was mid-July. The rooms are a bit dated the shower was above the bath. Room was spacious and very clean. The rooftop bar has amazing views and reasonably priced drinks. Breakfast was very good with plenty of hot/cold options and plenty of seating. The chef even gave me his freshest cooked fried egg :-)

Great location. Decent size rooms - we had sea facing and it was a lovely room. Shower very powerful. Very friendly and efficient staff, particularly Karina on reception. Breakfast was good, but a bit cold. Decent value overall. Would definitely stay there again and can totally recommend the Hotel Montemar. Thank you to all at the hotel. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Paying for a safe each day - should include it in the price. No small fridge or tea and coffee making facilities. But that’s all - it didn’t matter too much as the hotel was excellent and was spot on. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Excellent stay at Hotel Montemar highly recommend

Great location, close to shops and restaurants. Old town areas which was very quiet. Half board which was brilliant food very good. Fish/meat cooked fresh every night. Wine priced very reasonable. We had sea view room highly recommended,had sun all day and evening on the balcony. Staff were very friendly. Rooms cleaned very day. Roof top bar excellent for evening drinks and watched the sunset.

The room walls are so thin, kept hearing the people in the next rooms. When the cleaning staff working in the corridor’s they are so loud, pushing buckets along the floors was so noisy, however they are also very helpful, but just loud.

Three star hotel in a four star location

We booked a VIP room, and it was fabulous. From check-in to departure, everything was faultless. We arrived early, and the room was ready. The VIP rooms are amazing. Our room looked out onto the beach. The rooms have a fridge, sea view balcony, lovely towels, bath and shower. The room was cleaned daily and was spotless. Reception staff were helpful and spoke excellent English. The terrace barman was so happy and made great cocktails. We booked full board, and all food was buffet. Will definitely be back

Great cheese!

The cheese at breakfast!! On our last visit we remarked that the plastic cheese let down the breakfast offer. It is now proper real cheese :) It proves they listen to their Clients feedback. Having now stayed 5 times its our home from home and doesnt disappoint. We had an issue outwith the hotel but Roberto and Ana were super helpful to us. Much appreciated. The 2 ladies who look after the Bar were great as was the lad in the fabulous Terrace bar. We are back with our family group in October

A very memorable stay for all the right reasons!!

I messaged the hotel pre-arrival asking if they would be kind enough to set up balloons and banners if I sent them by Amazon and they made the room look amazing! They went above and beyond in every aspect. Thank you Marina and the lady on Reception (I´m sorry I don't know her name)

Fantastic 6 night stay in a cracking hotel

Perfect location on seafront.Excellent breakfast continental or full breakfast same price free with room.Not a giant skyscrapper hotel so lifts were never busy and everything was clean.Maid service excellent. Close proximity to good restaurants especially The Dining Room and all shops within easy walking distance.
