The staff were always polite to me. Great location: it is in a quiet area within walking distance of Highgate Cemetery. There are plenty of restaurants near the Underground station, which is only a couple of minutes away from the accommodation. The station is on the Northern line, which can take you directly to many popular locations. The room was actually clean and reasonably well equipped. I was at least provided with towels and small bottles of shower gel and shampoo.

Probably the best way to sum up Tufnell House is with what the receptionist told me when I asked about cleaning and replacing the towels: “We are not a hotel; we are students accommodation.” That is something you should keep in mind if you decide to stay here. When I was choosing where to stay, the “kitchen” mentioned in the Booking.com description was a deciding factor for me. However, the receptionist told me that the kitchen was not accessible to guests who had booked through Booking.com. The communication through the Booking.com messaging system before my stay was very aggressive. Just one day before check-in, they have sent me "final warning" that they would cancel my reservation unless I completed the identity verification process, which required taking a photo of my passport. After I completed it, they did not reply. They eventually responded two days later, after I had already arrived, and they did not answer the phone either. It was very stressful. They also made me nervous by sending messages saying things such as, “No drugs, no alcohol and no additional guests, or we will cancel your reservation.” Obviously, I was not planning to do any of those things, but the messages made me wonder what kind of place I was going to be staying in. My concerns were later confirmed when I could not sleep because of constant late-night parties that continued until the morning. There was nowhere to escape the heat during the heatwave. Even at night, when the temperature outside dropped, the room remained hot until the morning. However, this might not be a problem if you stay during normal weather. They also sent messages warning that if I lost the key—an old plastic access card—I would be charged £60. I had read that the shower was tiny, but I have to admit that I did not expect it to be that tiny.
