We had the most wonderful stay! The room was beautifully decorated, the kitchen well equipped, and the view was beyond stunning! The host was wonderfully receptive and speedy when we needed a couple of small things replenished. If we ever come back to this area we will be booking this exact same room again, it was beyond amazing. The resort itself was wonderful and the grounds beautiful. The beach was also amazing and we were able to snorkel and see lots of turtles.

The rental was exactly as described. It super nice. The views and especially sinsets were amazing. The unit is well stocked. You can cook whatever you need, store leftovers etc. There are beach chairs, boogie boards and sunscreen for the beach. Its a higher priced property, but for us, we were celebrating a big anniversary and it was worth it.

We have been fortunate to stay at HBR several times through the years and it is our favorite place in the island. While the prices have increased through the years, I still think it provides fair value compared to other properties. It was nice to see both restaurant and bar open again. Sad that the pool bar has closed and it look like for good. Views- unbelievebale. Accommodations--very good. Time with family- priceless. Our kids, now grown adults have joined us at HBR since our youngest was 4-- so it is a great place to reconnect and share great memories and family time in a great place.

Broken fridge, cockroaches, and noisy neighbors. The fridge died sometime the day before we checked in so that, while it was somewhat cold, by the following morning it was not. We contacted the owner and although he was polite and found a fridge to replace the broken one, it didn't happen until the 4th day of our stay and the only way to keep anything cold was a leaking soft cooler in the bathroom closet. He offered nothing in terms of compensation even though we lost groceries and had to eat out for so many unplanned meals. We also woke up on the first morning to German cockroaches all over the bedroom and bathroom and the owner came and placed roach traps all over. It did help lessen the amount of visible roaches but German cockroaches are tiny and impossible to get rid of with traps alone. Like other reviews have said it can be noisy. The walls are thin and if anyone is noisy in the adjoining units or outside (as they were multiple times) it feels as though it's right inside your unit with you. The parking can suck, in the evening the restaurants get busy and there can be literally zero parking anywhere.Listen, if you like the view it can't be beat... But if you're like us and want a chill vacation and don't care about resort amenities then save your money and find a different place, or spend just a little more and get a private house or something. This just wasn't worth it at all for the price. Expensive lesson learned.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The view is simply magical. The condo is decorated beautifully and everything you could possibly need is available. We did not mind any kind of walk around the property as we have stayed at larger properties previously and it has never been a concern. The staff was amazing, welcoming and incredibly helpful. We hope to return to soak in the views some more.

This is an amazing property. I can’t put into words the breath-taking view from the balcony, the photos just don’t do it justice. We spent many hours outside enjoying sunsets, watching the landscape changes as clouds rolled in throughout the day. The unit itself is beautifully maintained both inside and out, and was a wonderful and comfortable place to stay. We really enjoyed having both a table outside for eating and a couch/chairs outside for relaxing. The Hanalei Bay resort has a beautiful pool and hot tub, and the beach is a very short walk (or golf cart ride) away and has great snorkeling. This area of Kauai is absolutely breathtaking and we will definitely be back and would book this unit in a heartbeat. Thank you to the host for a wonderful vacation rental!

This was our first stop on in Hawaii and was the absolute best view of the trip. The unit is a bit of a walk from the parking lot/pool but it is totally worth it for the updates and the view. We loved having dinner on the patio and being woken up to sunrise over the bay. Highly highly recommend.

Absolutely loved the view and the unit is SO cute!!! We had an issue with cockroaches two nights in a row even after following the rules (no open food.. etc). It was after hours Seth replied relatively quickly and got someone out the next day to put traps out. But we already just felt uncomfortable. The day before we received a message about check in fees. (extra fees, check in fee, parking fee and resort fee) that was not disclosed until the day before arrival. Bathroom fan did not work, the second bathroom light was out of the socket, and a light into the bedroom was out as well, along with the fridge light. Quite a trek from parking to the unit but the golf carts will transport you. This would be a perfect unit with a washer and dryer! Overall, this place was beautiful. Stunning views of the sunrise and sunset, waterfalls and the coast. This is the last set of condos on the edge so there is no one else in front of you! It’s amazing.

The view is spectacular and the condo is comfortable. Note resort fees, including $50 check in which gets you keys, plus additional daily fees for towels and parking. Pool is nice, swim up bar has been closed for several years. Coin op laundry is a five min walk, bring quarters. Several signs recommending gratuity which I found tacky. Nearest grocery or convenience store is on the main road, 5 min walk to car then a 10 min drive.

Rainbows every morning gave way to sun and blue sky. 5 min fairly steep walk to beach shared with One Hotel (and golf cart shuttle was available via text anywhere on the property). Once we were checked in and settled we had a wonderful and relaxing week at this property. The location is perfect and the resort has wonderful amenities and a fantastic location. The view is unparalleled! The unit is comfortable, the AC works, and the supplies for easy beach-going were a nice added bonus. The deck furniture is great too!

Our stay at this unit was amazing. When I booked this I did it quickly and did not realize it is situated in a gorgeous resort with the best view on the property. We saw rainbows every morning and sunsets every evening from the large balcony. The unit is bright and open and very clean. Vaulted ceilings welcome you into the main room and master. Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided. The property has gorgeous landscaping, a beautiful koi pond, lots of tennis courts, a fantastic pool area, and a shared beach area. The beach is a walk but worth it! Shared with a large resort next door (they have most of it) but it’s quiet and the water is calm. The golf cart will come get you and drive you back to your unit since it’s all uphill. Our day was amazing and would come back to this unit.

We have stayed here several times and its always magnificent in views and cleanliness. The grounds are pristine! The owner was great. Very responsive and even dropped off coffee for us! Helpful information: 1) There isn't a restaurant on site. However there is decent pizza and salad to go. There is also a bar with fabulous drinks and a menu of bar food. No breakfast options. 2) The pool is cold. About temperature of the ocean 3) The facility charged 17.00 a day parking fee, 22.00 a day resort fee, and 50.00 check in fee. 4)The condo kitchen is decently stocked. For marketing planning, it has salt, pepper, and sweetener, coffee. No oil or other condiments 5) Yes, you can hear people in the two attached rooms. It bothered my husband but not me, and there weren't always other guests staying. 6) There's beach gear such as mats, umbrella, boogie boards etc. No need to rent anything! (We didnt snorkle or try that equipment). All in all a very amazing piece of paradise!

So the check-in process made us a little grumpy. You have to park your car in a lot and wait for an attendant with a golf cart to take you and your luggage to the unit. For us this was about a 30 min wait. Full disclosure we are NYers and probably a little impatient lol and we were tired. However, we stepped into the unit and all of our grumpiness faded away! The view is absolutely incredible!! The condo was immaculate and the bedroom was very comfortable. Initially I turned on the split in the BR to cool it down, however, it cooled down so fast we just shut it off until bed time. The property is beautiful and the laundry facility was very convenient. We dined at the restaurant two nights and enjoyed both meals. Would highly recommend this condo and we will be back!! Thank you!

Stayed here with my wife and two teenage children. The teens slept in the loft and didn't mind the lack a second bathroom. The main bedroom was perfect, and with A/C the whole place could get comfortable enough at night for a perfect sleep - waking up to views of bay and the mountains. The kitchen had everything you could want, plus it was nicely updated with great appliances, counters and tile. Same for the bathroom which was also nicely designed. This unit is on the quiet end of Hanalei Bay Resort, a short walk from main pool without the noise of the bar, main lobby and pool area. It's also close to the walking path down to the beach. This was our 3rd time staying at HBR and we decided that this unit is the only unit we'll want to stay in next time. It's just too perfect to pass up. Worth every penny.

Seth's place is well-equipped, immaculately decorated, and perfectly located to enjoy the best of everything Kauai's North Shore has to offer. We enjoyed the panoramic views of Hanalei Bay and the surrounding mountains, with rainbows appearing daily and breathtaking sunsets every evening. The location as well as the condo itself are nothing short of stunning. We also enjoyed walking down to the resort's beachfront. Several days, we had the beachfront all to ourselves, and even when other guests were around, it had a very private feeling. Other reviews mentioned noise from the neighboring units. We found the noise to be very minimal, and it did not impact the quality of our stay or our ability to enjoy the condo. Be aware this unit is located at the far end of the Hanalei Bay Resort property. We did not mind the walk at all, and the resort offers golf carts available to give you a ride. The only drawback to our stay was that the shower water ran cold after about 5-6 minutes, which made it challenging for both of us to shower consecutively. I'm sure this can be resolved, but it wasn't enough of an issue to want to spend our precious vacation time dealing with it. We just took short showers. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here! We had a fabulous time and are already planning to come back.

We had a lovely stay at the Hanalei Bay resort. This property was impeccably designed-- very fresh and modern. The balcony spans across the living room and primary bedroom, with amazing sunset views and all day views of surfers on Hanalei Bay. We spent the majority of our time out there when we were in the unit. The property owner thoughtfully includes all the gear you would want to explore the property and enjoy your vacation, including carts, umbrellas, sunscreen, and laundry detergent. Check in was a bit confusing at first because you have to check in at the main resort front desk, which is not usually the case with a VRBO. Everything went smoothly and we were in quickly. Everyone was friendly and efficient.

We had a fabulous time at this wonderful VRBO home. The décor was beautiful and very relaxing, by far the nicest at this resort. The couch and outdoor seating areas were very comfortable. As surfers we particularly enjoyed our private morning “surf cam” view from the deck that allowed us to assess the Hanalei swell. This unit came fully stocked with a complete kitchen, tennis gear, snorkeling attire, beach chairs and umbrella, a yoga mat, and beach blanket. We made good use of the hot tub, hotel pool, and common barbeque areas. While the resort’s Happy Talk lounge looked fun, due to COVID staffing issues it wasn’t open for most of our stay, but we were happy to cook our own meals and make our own drinks in the beautiful kitchen. We also highly recommend takeout from the Hideaways Pizza Pub - a 5 min drive away in Princeville. Some of our other observations to help future guests of this wonderful place: To echo some of the other reviews, the doors between the adjacent units are quite thin, but we just played a little quiet music and we found that we barely noticed our neighbors. There is a constant washing machine/air conditioning noise in one of the adjacent units that we got used to after about a day. In attempting to do some work from the unit we found that the internet was not particularly quick (~5 Mbps), but this is the same for the entire resort. There is a daily resort fee and taxes that came out to an additional ~$260 for a 7 night stay. There are golf carts available via text through the front desk for those who find the journey from the parking lot to the unit to be long, but in our opinion this is one of the best units on the property due to its isolation from the main areas of the resort. What a relaxing stay and thank you to Seth!

This was our 3rd time to Kauai and this was the best property where we stayed. The grounds of the resort were beautiful with tennis and pools and plenty of greenery. The beach that we had access to was small but very private. The walk down is steep, but paved and the carts will retrieve you when you're through. I was a little disappointed that we couldn't park closer to the condo, but the walk was good for us. Also the additional parking and resort fee were frustrating. The view from the condo was amazing!! Since the condo is the closest one in the resort to the ocean, there were no buildings blocking. The Lanai was spacious. The condo itself was modern, remodeled and beautiful. Good amount of beach equipment. A/C worked great. I do agree with some previous reviews about the noise from the adjoining condos. I seems like this would be an easy fix by replacing with some hotel quality doors. We definitely would recommend and plan on staying again next year if it's available.
