About this cabin rental
The perfect honeymoon or family-friendly quality getaway spot, nestled in the quiet countryside of Mt. Sterling, KY - with a beautiful lake just steps from your back porch. Take your family or friends canoeing, paddle-boating, fishing. End your stay with a campfire in the fire pit to make this an unforgettable getaway.
Request `The Honey Bee Tour` for just $20 more per group, in which the owner will allow your group an up-close and personal view of the honey bees, as well as an explanation about why the honey bees are so important, and why/how we should protect them. When the bees are in season, we might even have honey available for purchase! It has to be at least 55 degrees and dry and daylight to play with the bees.
All the water sports stuff is included in your rental. We ask that you use life saving devices when on the water playing .
We live just across the pond. Please feel free to reach out to us with any of your needs.
This is a remote custom-built cabin by me the owner on our 5 acre pond. Expect to see all kinds of wildlife.
Only 10 minutes from Mount Sterling, or 15 minutes to Winchester. Maybe 40 minutes to Lexington.
We have a short list of house rules posted in the cabin. Please let us know when you check out so that we can start cleaning. It takes us at least 3 hours between guests not counting laundry . We wash all bed linens every time . Pets are allowed but there is a $15 per day charge. Airbnb will send you an email for this charge separate from the basic rental.
- All guests must be 25+ (children with parents are allowed)
- 4 Humans Max
- 2 Vehicle Max
- No Pets
- We provide a starter kit of 2 toilet paper rolls, 1 paper towels rolls, one sponge, dish and hand soap, and garbage bags. You may need to buy more.
- You will likely see and hear critters
- We do not send maintenance or cleaners to the property during your stay. Only after you depart unless agreed upon by guests and host.

If you want to someplace quiet, peaceful, and totally relaxing, the Honey Hut in Mt. Sterling, KY is the spot. We had a great time walking the neighborhood - including meeting a few friendly dogs - and sitting on the wonderful covered deck enjoying the up-close water views and the immersive sounds of nature. It's convenient enough for us that we definitely plan to return.

The house was pretty and clean, the outdoor amenities were great. We loved stargazing at the firepit and had fun fishing. Scott was phenomenal at corresponding and made us feel welcome. We would absolutely stay here again and will be sure to stay longer next time.
