the location was stunning, the house was exactly what we were looking for, a little cottage to relax in over Christmas. the hosts sourced extra chairs for us to be able to eat at the table as a family and even put up a little Christmas tree. the beds were comfortable and the whole house was clean and tidy. There were a few bits that looked a little run down (the floor having some scratch marks in for example) but as family with children, these actually made us feel more welcome rather than put off.
the cottage its self is in a small group of houses, away from most of civilisation although there is a village about 5 minutes away for your small shops and Oban is only an hour away for lidl, asda, aldi etc.
for those with smaller children, there is a park only 15 minute walk away and 2 horses in a field just a few minutes away too, these were a highlight for my 7 year old.
the pub across the road is also lovely, the food was great and the staff are nice. we didnt hear any noise from them, or anyone else.
the stairs are not the easiest stairs to climb up and down, I believe this was mentioned in other reviews. not an issue although I did fall down them myself, I think this was more a case of me rushing and the fact it was dark on unfamiliar stairs and having several coats on the coat rack. it's only here as a kinda guidance for other guests rather than as a complaint.
We love the cottage and cant wait to go back.

The location was ideal for what we needed it for. There was adequate shops in the area and a lovely restaurant across the road where we had to lovely evening meals. The outside look of the property was very deceiving, we half expected it to be a little bit of an hovel , but NO, it was the opposite, nice and clean, good instructions and advice, the rooms were all spacious. If we were ever in the area again, we would go back.
We cannot think of anything we didn't like about the place.

We really enjoyed our stay in this big quirky cottage. The stone wall in the generously proportioned living room with the giant sofas was a feature. Loved the friendly village vibe at the Horseshoe Inn literally across the road.
Steep staircase & low angled ceilings in the bedrooms & bathroom needed to be carefully navigated.
Couldn’t figure out how to turn down the heating.

When I arrived at the cottage late in the evening, I discovered it hadn't been cleaned yet. Not exactly what you want after a long day of travel! I messaged the host through the app, and wow - her response was incredible.
She got back to me right away with such a genuine, heartfelt apology. Turns out the housekeeper had missed it on the calendar (these things happen!). But here's the amazing part - she actually offered to drive over 100 miles herself that same night to clean the place personally. I couldn't let her do that, but the fact that she was willing to shows just how much she cares.
She promised to sort everything out the next day, and she absolutely delivered on that promise. But she didn't stop there - she offered me a refund for the inconvenience, invited me to stay an extra night, and even gave me some lovely gift hampers.
Honestly, mistakes happen, but it's how someone handles them that shows their true character. This host went above and beyond to make things right. Her kindness and dedication to her guests really impressed me. I'd definitely stay here again!

Practical house for guests with outdoor pursuits, with plenty of space especially in the good-sized kitchen. Nice cosy bedrooms. Lovely location in quiet village, car parking directly outside, and the only pub (& server of a good meal!) for miles around was a big plus.
Lots of empty cupboards in the kitchen - a few more kitchen staples (e.g. more implements for cooking), and a teapot would have been nice. The sitting room was a little stark and would benefit from new furniture.

Good size property, clean and plenty of facilities; dinning area, outside table and chairs. Great location and beautiful scenery on the doorstep. Friendly neighbours and charming atmosphere.
I wasn't very proficient on the cooker convection.

The cottage was cosy, welcoming and had everything we needed.
The owners were fab and just at the end of the phone if we needed anything. Gave us lots of great info about the surrounding area and places to visit.
There's limited phone reception, however, the WiFi in the property was great.

Loved the location easy to drive to other locations - has a lovely pub across the road. Bed comfortable. Large kitchen and great sitting area. Loved that we were able to take our two small dogs (not allowed upstairs ✔️). Large memory mattress bed. Heating great.
Stairs quite slippy - maybe get some treads?

Great communication from a friendly owner. This wasn’t our first stay at this cottage and won’t be our last either 😉

The location was brilliant as we wanted to take our grandchildren to the Kilmartin Cists.
Nothing. Thr cottage was excellent and we had all we needed as a base. It was also well furnished and equipped as we cooked some amazing meals while we were there.

The property is convenient and located in a small village. The pub across the street offers good food.
There could be a bit more kitchen amenities like a bigger pot especially when you are a family of 5. Toilets need to be fixed.

This is a lovely little cottage in a quiet and scenic part of the world. Everything you would want is right on the doorstep for walking, stone circles, old castles and miles and miles of unspoilt countryside
It was pretty well appointed but a couple of games or maybe a deck of cards or something might be a nice additional touch for those rainy days. But really that is just asking for extra icing on the cake!

quiet small town with friendly people , owner was brilliant and answered messages right away , it’s comfy and has everything you need could have stayed longer !! town with shops ect is 10 min drive but this is what I was looking for.
the property is beautiful can’t say anything negative, only small thing is you need to walk on a road (no pavement) to get near a nice place to walk the dog but that was my fault for forgetting my lead

Lovely location close to the Crinan Canal and Moine Mhor nature reserve. Cosy accommodation with a nice pub (The Horseshoe Inn) just across the road.
The sloping ceiling in the main (double) bedroom can catch you out (ouch).

Bathroom only on the 1st floor. A bit inconvenient. Parking on the main street, need to be extra careful not to park too far from the edge of the road.

The sloping ceilings are tough for tall people when bed is near the side wall.
The light at top of stairs didn’t work and the bathroom door creaked very loudly!
