About this cabin rental
Guests can enjoy an atmospheric barbecue in the year-round BBQ hut or unwind in the private hot tub beneath a canopy of stars, with the patio softly lit by fairy lights. Inside, the lodge combines rustic warmth with modern comforts: a cosy log burner, a wide-screen smart TV with Netflix, and large windows that frame the surrounding wilderness. The fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering effortless, while the inviting bedroom—dressed with luxurious linens and robes—promises restful, indulgent sleep.
Woodcock Lodge is proudly dog-friendly, welcoming pets and offering plenty of space to explore and exercise. Designed primarily for couples seeking tranquility and comfort, it also happily accommodates babes in arms.
Woodcock Lodge offers a luxurious, Scandi-inspired retreat in the tranquillity of Kilmichael Glen—perfect for couples and their dogs. Though only 100 yards from its sister lodge, Wildcat, it remains completely private. Inside, the warm, wood-lined interior includes a log burner and smart TV, cosy bedroom with luxury linens and robes, and fully fitted kitchen. Outside, a fairy-lit patio, private hot tub, and year-round BBQ area create a magical setting for slow days and starlit evenings. Dogs are pampered with their own bed, towel, bowl, and treats, and our friendly resident donkeys, Sam and Rodney, always enjoy meeting guests.
The surrounding area is rich in history and natural beauty. Kilmichael Glen is known for its standing stones, ancient carvings, and atmospheric woodland trails that reveal layers of Scotland’s past. Walks here feel peaceful and immersive, with quiet paths ideal for exploring with a dog. Close by, Lochgilphead offers cafés, bakeries, and small local shops, making it easy to find fresh pastries, local seafood, and handmade treats. Those who enjoy barbeques can also obtain venison from the neighbouring estate. Excellent restaurants are located nearby, and a cosy pub awaits 10 minutes’ drive away.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy. The Crinan Canal provides a gentle route for walking or cycling beside drifting boats and scenic waterways. Knapdale Forest offers wildlife-rich trails where you might spot beavers, red squirrels, and deer beneath towering pines. For coastal views, the Sound of Jura is only a short drive away, with beaches, lookout points, and excellent opportunities for birdwatching and marine wildlife sightings.
With its blend of serenity, luxury, and access to remarkable landscapes, Woodcock Lodge offers an unforgettable base for couples seeking both relaxation and adventure in one of Scotland’s most beautiful regions.
