Classic, laid-back BHI oceanfront beach house perched on highly sought after South Beach with beach access right off the ocean-facing porch makes this an ideal spot for family gatherings, beach vacations, or remote work/learning opportunities. Located in close proximity to BHI club for those looking to dine, golf, or swim. BHI and Shoals Club memberships available for separate purchase.
New to VRBO however long-standing in the rental market, The Blue Pearl offers five bedrooms and four full bathrooms. The four main bedrooms (King, King, Queen, Queen) include their own private full bath while the fifth bedroom has two twin beds and a television, perfect for little guests.
The layout of this property features easy one level living with hardwood floors throughout, bedrooms/ private baths in each of the four corners of the house allowing for quiet privacy. With two ensuite king bedrooms, the house is perfect for either two families to share or one family to enjoy the space. Likewise, the two king bedrooms offer french doors to the oceanfacing porch for those who love an ocean breeze.
With one level living, the intentional open concept design allows for enough room for comfortable gathering in common areas yet privacy for when guests want to retire from the group. The open kitchen/common area floorplan makes for easy entertainment all while enjoying the ocean & dunes view.
The large rocking chair porch is unparalled as it expands the entire length of the house making for incredible sunset views year round. The underneath of the house is decked and includes an outdoor shower, a grill, as well as hose right at the foot of the steps to hose off sandy feet.
Additionally, our home includes top tier wifi for those looking to get some work done while on vacation and every room has its own flat screen tv.
The chef's kitchen is fully stocked with stainless steel countertops, a variety of cookware, select oils & spices, and great amenities including an ice making machine (great for filling coolers ), Kiereg, regular coffee maker, french press, and double ovens for large family meals.
Built in the early days of BHI, Blue Pearl, was built by the Dunlap Family who were part of the reknown original "19" Generator Society. Its beach chic, easy living asthetic has stood the test of time and the shiplap walls will remind of you days when life was simple. Blue Pearl has a personality all its own and was once featured in Coastal Living Magazine when it was renovated by BHI long standing local and talented businesswoman, Tiffany Williams. While recently refreshing with new beds and sofas, the new owners have strived to keep the style and ease that has kept guests coming back year after year. The style of the home has been carefully curated to reflect casual "kick off your shoes" coastal living with modern conveniences.
Two golf carts (one six seater, one four seater), lots of beach toys, two surfboards, boogie boards, and chairs. Highchair, pack n play, and two foldable beds are available. If you need additional baby equipment we can help direct you to equipment rental vendors.
BHI club and Shoals Club guest memberships are available for separate purchase.
New owners have made some improvements including new sofas, new bedding for all beds, whole house dehumidifier, refreshed laundry room, and new bikes. We also provide a Brita water filter pitcher to cut down on bottled water.
Rentals run Saturday to Saturday in high season while off season will have more flexibility. Minimum 3 night rental with some exceptions made.
No pets. Linens excluding beach towels are included. If you need beach towels, contact owner for arrangements!

My siblings and our spouses had a warm and relaxing week in Blue Pearl on BHI. The four en suite bedrooms were comfortable and the open floor plan of the main space had room for everyone. We spent much time on the deck taking in the ocean breeze. Everything we needed for beach time was there…chairs, beach shade, umbrellas, coolers. Some of us took advantage of the bikes and pedaled around the island. Both golf cars worked great and were perfect for our group. We had a young adult couple in the 5th bedroom due to a last minute change for our group. I’d recommend that room for a couple of younger people who can share the bathroom with their parents. Our host gave us the heads up about that in advance. It was no problem for us as the 4 bathrooms were plenty for our group of 10. There were also plenty of books and games to pass time. Absolutely everything. We needed was available on the kitchen. Probably the most well stocked VRBO I’ve ever rented. This was our 3rd trip to BHI. Loved the location of Blue Pearl with direct ocean access, close to the harbor as well as the shopping in the middle of the island.

I loved this house. I loved the history of the home. It was nice to read about the history of the home in the book at the house. I feel like it was located in a very central location on the island. We went to the marina and grocery store frequently, and just explored in general. The host/owner was very helpful and easy to work with. There was also plenty of space between us and other homes. My entire family enjoyed the home and location.

We were here for my son's wedding and the group consisted of friends and family none of whom actually knew each other before this trip. So the layout of those house - four corner bedrooms each with its own bathroom was perfect. Each couple/family group had their privacy, but the common area was large and welcoming for hanging out and getting to know one another. The house was nicely furnished and the kitchen was beyond well equipped. We loved the deck and the boardwalk connection to the adjacent beach access. Communication with the host was excellent and she was especially helpful when we were stuck on the island after a tropical storm! We hope to return some time next season - Bald Head Island is special and the Blue Pearl is lovely.

This is a beautiful house and was perfect for our family. Unfortunately our stay was cut short by a tropical storm. The host was an absolute pleasure to work with in less than ideal circumstances. We look forward to returning.
