About this house rental
“Resting Beach Face” is an estate home that sits quietly on an oversized lot with outstanding views of the 17th Fairway of the Bald Head Island golf course. It's a short hop to the beach, market, restaurants and clubs. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views from the back of the house, allowing you to enjoy both sunrise and sunset. This spacious, 4,000 sq. foot, three-story retreat features multiple screened in porches, a serene sundeck, spacious living room and open kitchen floor plan ideal for entertaining and relaxing, 2 full length dining tables (indoor/outdoor), 2 wood burning fire places, 4 king beds, 4 bunk beds that can sleep 3 each and 1 large couch that can sleep 2. This pet friendly home comes with a fully stocked kitchen and plentiful seating for your entire family.
The upper level includes the Primary Suite with a king bed, shower and large jetted tub, comfortable seating area, mini fridge and wet-bar, a large-screen TV and screened in porch. As well as Bedroom 2 with king bed and shower/tub. Lastly, the laundry room with washer and dryer. Linens and bath towels are included in rental.
The middle level includes Living Room with a large-screen TV and oversized couch (can sleep 2), well-equipped Kitchen with breakfast bar, Dining Room, and large massive screened in deck. It also includes Bedroom 3 and connected sundeck as well as Bedroom 4 which each have King Bed and Showers.
The lower level includes Bedroom 5 with 2 bunk beds (twin on top and full on bottom) which can sleep 3 each if doubling up on bottom. Outside of this bedroom is a spacious open area equipped with 2 more bunk beds which can sleep 3 each.
The property comes with 2 golf carts available to potter about the island and enjoy the beautiful scenery (one 4-seater and one 6-seater golf cart). Beach towels and outdoor shower also available for your enjoyment and comfort.
High speed WIFI internet and smart tv’s allow you to access your favorite Netflix and Prime shows.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a great place for lots of families to gather. We mostly ate on the deck so everyone could eat together at the multiple tables. The property manager was quick to respond and make sure things were going well. The house has everything we needed even if it took a minute to figure out where things were. It was dated but clean. There were beach chairs, toys, and an umbrella, although I get the impression these are just left by guests and not necessarily provided/ guaranteed by the owners. There was a crock pot, blender, grill (with strict rules that it had to be used away from the house). The beach was a quick 5 minute drive.

The property location was great. It was an easy quick walk or ride to the closest beach and grocery store. The island had so much to offer! It was really nice that the golf carts were included with the property. Beds and living space were comfy and gave lots of room for our big crew to gather and spend time together. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed! Our only complaint was the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the property. There were some issues with lights/fixtures not working, rusted furniture, corrosion, and broken screens on the porch. The cleanliness of the property also wasn’t great. The front porch was unusable to do wasps nests all over (we have two highly allergic kids so we couldn’t risk them being out there), there was an old dog urine spot on the floor, standing water in the dog bowls, and food still in the fridge from the last stay. Everything just needed a good power wash, and a few updates. All in all it didn’t effect our stay much, we just did a quick wipe down and tidy when we got there, but I expected it to be much cleaner for a stay of this price. We had a wonderful time, and would stay again.

This house has great gathering spaces, lots of options which was nice since we had different age groups with us. It was nice for everyone to have their own bathrooms as well. The downstairs bunk room is fun for the kids. Beds are comfy too. The owners were very communicative and easy to work with. Check in and out was easy.
