About this cabin rental

Welcome to our Log Cabin with a private pool and riverfront! We purchased this home in 2024 after searching for a quick getaway for our family. This 2500 square foot cabin has 4 bedrooms with 2 full baths and 2 powder rooms in the main house. This unique log cabin has an interesting layout with the master bedroom downstairs that you can enter through either the door next to the foyer or through the family room with a Queen size bed, private bathroom and walk in closet. Main floor has a large living room, dining room with seating for up to 8, family room with wood burning fireplace, Samsung Smart TV, and Vintage Mario Arcade game. Two powder rooms are downstairs under the staircase and in the utility room. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils, blender, waffle maker, two toasters, two coffee makers, coffee grinder, double ovens, microwave, fridge and a crockpot all ready for you to just bring food and your favorite beverages. Utility room has a washer, dryer and sink for soaking clothes. Upstairs you will find a full bathroom at the top of the stairs with a large soaking tub. To the left of the stairs bedroom 2 has one queen size bed, window seat and walk-in closet. To the right of the stairs is bedroom 3 and has one full size bed and a twin trundle bed. Keep walking through bedroom 3 to reach the very large bedroom 4 bunk room. This room is great for sleeping lots of people. It has 2 full over full bunk beds and a separate twin bed. The spacious covered back porch has new oversized patio furniture, ceiling fans and views of the pool, large Pecan trees and Colorado River. New Ping pong table has been set up on the back porch.

Next to the main house is a casita that has a full bathroom and plenty of space for exercising. Brand new three person sauna has been installed.

Our cabin 16 miles to San Saba, 9 miles to Colorado Bend State Park, 8.2 miles to Fiesta Winery, and 3 miles to always fun Bend General Store where you can see live music and eat from their wide assortment menu.

If you are looking for a large home in the country to escape the city and reconnect with family, this is a perfect place for you.

The property has potential as a relaxing weekend spot with a pool, but several issues made our stay underwhelming:1. One of only two shower bathrooms had no lock and low water pressure on shower head — a major inconvenience, especially with kids in the group.2. The pool was dirty on arrival and required an hour long personal cleaning session to remove all the fallen leaves despite repeated requests.3. The outdoor gas grill didn’t work properly, ruining our planned evening cookout. The flames were working but the temperature never rose above 200F.4. The riverside ledge felt unsafe, so we dropped our fishing plans.5. Kitchen pans were old and sticky, and basic items like aluminum foil were missing.Overall, the experience didn’t match the price paid. Some basic maintenance/quality-check and attention to detail would have gone a long way. To give credit where due - Jamie (the host) was promptly responding to my questions before and during the stay.

Conveniently located near Colorado Bend State Park on the Colorado River, this house easily acommodated our two families with room to spare. The only drawback was staying in February when it was too cold for the pool. Guess we'll have to plan a return trip...

This is the third time we have stayed at the house and it has always been great. Everything you need is there. Very comfortable beds and kitchen has everything, you just have to look and find it. If there is a negative it would be bathroom upstairs. You can sleep 8 or 10 people upstairs with just one shower and bathroom on 2nd floor. But we shared the master shower on first floor and some guest went to sauna bathroom to shower. GREAT TIME !!!!

Great place to stay, with lots of activities to do. Cabin was well kept and plenty of bed. Pool was way over chlorinated, with a tab still in it. Seemed like someone was just tossing in chlorine “just in case” and didn’t test the water and add the appropriate amount. Unfortunate there’s only two full bedrooms with one master shared sleeping room. Great for family and kids, not as good with 11 adults.

This is our second time to stay at the Bend cabin. We're already looking at the calendar to see when we can go back. Last visit, we utilized the hot sauna and this time we lived in the pool. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The beds are so comfortable! Always fun to take a trip to the Bend store for burgers and live music. We can't wait to come visit again!

The Log Cabin House was just as described. Nice house. We especially enjoyed the pool and fishing off the platform on the river. We went to San Saba for 4th of July Fireworks. The fireworks show was great. On Saturday, there was a big party (15+ vehicles) at a house toward the West. They started the day (10:30 AM) by shooting firearms into the river. Then shot fireworks late into the night (10 pm to Midnight). Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but probably would avoid staying around the 4th of July Weekend in the future.

Very nice home. We really enjoyed the pool, the ping pong table, the arcade game and the spacious, cool house. It easily accommodated our full family (14+) and did not feel cramped. It is quite close to Colorado Bend state park. Our hike to Gorman Falls was fun, as was getting back to the nice cold house and pool after the hot hike. Neighbors" houses on the sides were a bit close, but the deep lot backing up to the river and strategic placement of the casita helps it feel more secluded. The property has tons of amenities that meet almost all of our wishes, including a nice waffle maker and a sauna. The kitchen had everything we needed.

Every year our family finds a home for our trip. This property was the best. The house is very clean and amply supplied. The pool and sauna cabana was just icing on the cake. The river access was great for everyone that fished. The property owner was great and very communicative. My family wants to come back for more family trips.

The description of the property was spot on. The facilities were super clean. Most of all the kitchen was very well equipped. Everything we needed to make our meals was available and the spice collection is very good. Also the pans were in very good condition. Jamie, the host was generous to offer early and late check-in and out. One member of our group owns a vaction rental, and she was thouroughly impressed.

Overall property had been maintained and furnished well. Lot of kitchen utensils with adequate options to cook from. Sauna had been a highlight. There were a few shortcomings and hope they can be improved. Drinking water filtration system is in place but not working. Thermostat control doesn't seem to work. Either it gets too hot or too cold in some rooms. Only 1 bath room shower works properly. Others aren't getting hot water or too slow to take shower.

This place was perfect for 9 of us friends to get together and spend time together and celebrate a couple of birthdays. Spent some time hiking the park, enjoying the town of San Saba and playing some ping pong. Beds were comfortable and this place had everything we needed.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin, we spent most of our weekend just hanging out because we liked the space so much. We had plenty of room and everything we needed for cooking in the kitchen. The sauna was super nice and had a nice workout area as well. The surroundings were peaceful. We would definitely return.

We enjoyed our family gathering so much! The cabin is well stocked with everything you need. Beds were super comfortable. Great rental for large families. Plenty of room to roam. It rained, so we didn't get to use the pool much, but really enjoyed the hot sauna. We also enjoyed an evening at The Bend General Store for fantastic burgers and live music. We really enjoyed our stay at the house. Everything was so nice and clean. We especially enjoyed the pool in the backyard. We were hoping to kayak the Colorado River but it was pretty low. So most of the time was spent at the house just enjoying our family and relaxing. Will definitely stay again.

The cabin was super comfortable and we felt right at home. There was plenty of room for adults & children, lots of places to hang out, read, or take a nap (beds were very comfy). The kids really loved the pool, and everyone enjoyed sitting outside on the back porch or around the pool in the evening. We grilled steaks & burgers, roasted marshmallows, and watched the stars come out. The Bend General Store was a fun experience on the weekend, and the quaint little town of San Saba was only 18 miles away. We also hiked a bit at Colorado Bend State Park, but it was very hot. All in all, everyone agreed that this was one of our best Family Get-togethers!! Thanks for the memories!

Accommodations were excellent. We brought a small group of kids and leaders from our church. The kitchen was well equipped for meals and the pool was very refreshing with our extra heated summer :-) Our group really enjoyed the ping pong and the corn hole. We had a great time Celebrating all my Grandchildren’s birthdays with ages ranging from 1 to 18. And celebrated my first grandchild’s High School Graduation. The clean and roomy cabin had a well stocked kitchen and bathrooms, as well as plenty of towels and pool toys for use. We ate breakfast by the river and enjoyed being in the country. We made a very fun girls visit to nearby San Saba winery, Olive oil company and pecan shops. There is also an amazing bakery there you have to visit. The owners were very attentive and kind to answer questions. IT WAS OVERALL A FUN AND AMAZING STAY.

Had a great mini vacation here with the family. Great home for big groups. Loved having a pool and the option to fish in the river. Also loved how close it was to the state park. Only thing I would mention is I didn’t realize how close the neighbors were. Not much privacy. Overall, a great place to stay!

We took this trip to celebrate my oldest son's birthday. The property was spacious and clean. Check in was simple. Everything we needed was available just as stated on the website. The host was prompt in handling the concern we had with the pool. When I called the first day about cleaning the pool, an individual came right over to clean it. We were not able to enjoy the pool as much as I would have liked since it was very difficult to keep clean as there were so many caterpillars falling from the tree into the pool. Luckily we spent most of the daytime going to the nearby state parks. I called again on our final day and again an individual came promptly to clean the pool. My family was able to enjoy the pool for a few hours as I spent my time skimming out the caterpillars so my grandsons could enjoy the pool at least one day. I don't blame the host for this. This property is really getting back to nature so you take the good with the bad. Overall it was a great family trip. All thanks to the host and her helpers for doing their best to make our trip enjoyable.

Loved this rustic cabin stay with river access. It's very spacious home that meets all your basic home needs. We enjoyed the pool, the workout area/sauna, the ping pong table, and the old school Mario video game. The back yard was spacious and we were able to play baseball and toss the football. We definitely spent most of our time on the back porch and back yard areas. Caught a couple of catfish as well and fried some fish. Made it to the General Store for steak and fish Friday night with live music and enjoyed some excellent Mexican food in San Saba which was just a 20 minute drive. (stayed 4 nights 5 days) My family loved it !!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin! It was close to Colorado Bend, right next to the river, very clean, with more than enough room for our family of 6, had a well stocked kitchen, toys for the kids, high chair for our toddler, with the added bonus of a pool and sauna! We’re nature lovers, so we enjoyed having multiple sightings of a barred owl nesting nearby. Apart from the cabin itself, it was a pleasure working with the owner. They were very responsive, helpful and flexible. I would highly recommend this place for a home away from home when visiting this area.
