Eine wunderschöne, stilvoll und hochwertig eingerichtete Wohnung, die sehr zentral und ruhig liegt! Der Gastgeber Lino ist absolut freundlich, professionell und serviceorientiert. Er tut alles, um den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten! Außergewöhnlich, vielen herzlichen Dank!

Tout! L’appartement Oïkos est spacieux, très joliment décoré et bien équipé (réfrigérateur avec congélateur, plaque de cuisson au gaz, four traditionnel, machine à café et bouilloire, machine à laver, climatisation dans chaque pièce, tri sélectif). Il est situé au 1er étage sans ascenseur d’un immeuble calme à usage d’habitations de Syracuse dans un quartier authentique. Les espaces communs sont propres et entretenus. L’escalier est large et facile à monter avec les bagages. La grande pièce de vie et une chambre sont au calme du côté cours intérieure qui sert de parking privé, et la grande sdb et l’autre chambre sont côté rue (en sens unique, à circulation modérée). Il y a un balcon de chaque côté, et des fenêtres récentes à double vitrage en plus des fenêtres d’origine équipées de jolis volets intérieurs en bois. Il est situé à 17mn à pieds d’Ortigia, 15mn de la gare, 10mn du parc archéologique, 3 mn de la basilique sanctuaire. Il y a des commerces de proximité. Tout peut se faire à pieds facilement. A 2mn, le « Profumo di Pollo » un restaurant de plats à emporter est bien pratique! Les échanges WhatsApp avec Lino étaient fluides et très agréables avec une grande réactivité et souplesse de sa part notamment pour les heures arrivée/départ. L’accès de la porte de l’immeuble s’est fait à distance en direct avant de trouver un trousseau des clés dans la boîte à code. La bouteille de vin blanc au frais est une délicate attention d’accueil ☺️

The location took a little getting used to as the apartment is located in a residential building. I always feel a bit like an intruder in settings like these, but the residents we encountered were extremely friendly and chatty! The neighbourhood is nice, there is a school nearby, a bakery, supermarkets, bars... The location is also conveniently located for the archeological park of Siracusa. It is a fairly long walk from Ortigia---there is a bus service, but we didn't use it as the weather was so good during our stay and we enjoyed the walk. The apartment is modern, nicely furnished and very clean, with a comfortable bed, small kitchen area, spacious bathroom and nice touches such as a bottle of wine in the fridge. It was also very quiet at night, which is always a bonus. We'd definitely stay there again, it was excellent value and convenient on every level. Although we never met the host, he was very present and helpful, providing all the check-in details via WhatsApp well in advance and answering messages immediately.

If you are travelling by car, bear in mind that the parking might be a bit tricky as the parking area is pretty full and spaces are not marked. However, we always managed to find a spot so this is really not a question of "not liking" the parking, just knowing what to expect.

The host was always available through Watsapp for answering any questions we had. Whilst he wasn't there in person, he made it easy for us to get the keys and provided us with good local information. You can see the location on the map, so it should come as no surprise that it is a 45 minute walk to the furthest point of Ortigia. We happily walked there and spent a day wandering around the castle and the old town. So, for us, the location was ideal. Parking was relatively easy... a communal parking area within the surrounding properties. People coming/going all of the time, so if you don't get a good parking spot immediately, chances are that you can simply move the car a little later.

Not sure whether we missed something obvious, but hot water in the shower was virtually non-existent. It was just luke warm enough that you could get in without being shocked
