Newly refurbished and located on the stunning Lime Avenue drive to Arniston House Elm Cottage is one of 4 charming stone cottages which housed the foresters for the Estate in days gone by. Set in a sunny tranquil courtyard the cottages overlook fields to the north. The cottages also have an area of peaceful garden for visitors' use. A timeless place to relax in the country yet only 30 minutes from the center of Edinburgh with all its attractions. An ideal base for families with pets.
Elm Cottage has one double or twin room and shower room on ground floor level. Upstairs is a king bedroom with a shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped including an electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. The cosy sitting room has a wood burning stove with logs and kindling provided free of charge by the estate woodlands. A Freeview TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi are provided to entertain you during a relaxing break.

Elm tree was perfect for are requirements as it was so lovely and quiet at the location.And nice and close to we’re we wanted to visit on a daily basis.The only slight issue was that the log burner wasn’t the most efficient that I have dealt with.But a beautiful place and location

We stayed for 3 nights and had a really good time. Cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Beds and sofas were comfortable.
Easy access to Edinburgh, 5 minute drive to the train station then you’re at Waverley in half an hour, so really convenient.
Only niggle was that the boiler would make quite a noise about every 10-15 minutes or so, kids slept through it though even though it was next to their room.
Owner was also very responsive when a minor problem with one of the showers was reported.
Would like to come back and have a proper look round the estate and other places nearby.

Another nice quiet stay in Elm Cottage. Arniston is a perfect location for us to visit family and local attractions with them

Elm Cottage was a charming and cosy place to stay. We visited with our two boys for a one-week stay, and found the cottage well-equipped, clean, and comfortable, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The grounds were lovely to walk on!
We especially enjoyed learning about the history of Arniston House (during the tour). Henrietta was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our stay and provided us with Honey and my boys with some board games, which made the experience even more special! We loved the little Arniston House booklet in the cottage, which traced the family’s ancestral lines, and discovering that Henrietta is part of the family too was a lovely surprise! : )
