The toilet in the bathroom could have been more private. It would have been good to know the onsite parking would cost 20 euro per day before arrival.

The rooms are tiny it was hard for two people with how the bed was set up! could barely walk by with luggage to get to the other side of the room. And the bathroom facilities do not feel private.

Good place to stay as long as you do not mind a walk to the centre.

The hotel is pretty new and the rooms were very modern and clean. Good strong, hot shower and air conditioned. The bar is cool but mainly serving cocktails/aperol spritzers/wine. etc. Not really a beer sort of place and not cheap. You can decline daily room cleaning to get a free drink voucher which is a good idea. All staff very pleasant. It takes 15/20 mins to walk to the centre, but the local area itself is quite lively with a lot of places to eat and drink, many with a Turkish flavour.

Nor sure about the sink being in the room, or the toilet and shower only surrounded by frosted glass. Or the tiny bedside tables. A little bit of a case of fashion/trendiness vs practicalities. The self check in is a pain. Either it takes ages, and/or you need a staff member to help anyway which defeats the object. We did not have breakfast as it was very expensive ( €25 each) .

Been several time, staff is great location is perfect for where I needed to be, bar nice as well

Breakfast can be better, a couple of warm items could improve the image, like for example scrambled eggs and or mushrooms, coffee service is slow, I understand hotel wants to give service but it really can be annoying especially at breakfast when you have to wait, and it happens every of my last 5 visits, suggestion, add a self service machine for breakfast it will help guests and staff. Also noon check out instead of 11 will improve the guest experience especially in an area where people go out. a coffee machine in the room would be appropriate for the price

Perfect place to spend a birthday staycation with my girls ❤️

The check - in was flawless and quick. I think it was one of the best experiences I had just checking in, their app is user friendly and everything is on point. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your stay. They provide you with recommendations around the area for good food and drinks. I personally loved that they had an option of either taking room service water/refreshments or free drinks. The room was quirky and spacious and the shower is the cherry on the top. We had a perfect girls staycation. I would highly recommend this hotel for the experience, area and the staff ❤️

Because the room its not very big, its little space to pass between the corner of the bed and the wall, that may hurt in the leg.

Comfortable and Cool, Though Not the Quietest

The hotel has a great style, with modern decor, a trendy bar, and a playful design throughout. Most floors offer a room where you can get free tea and water, along with a snack dispenser. Parking is convenient, and the location is excellent, with a subway station just a short walk away.

The rooms are not soundproof. Our neighbors had a young child, and we couldn’t sleep past 7 a.m. because every step the child took sounded like a loud bang. The same was true when a staff member started cleaning the neighboring room — it sounded as if they were right inside ours. We enjoyed many aspects of the hotel, but if you can’t get a good night’s sleep, it’s hard to say it’s truly worth it.

Modern hotel, great location, lovely staff and super cool bar!

Really pleased with location. About 20 mins (very steady walk) to Cathedral. Underground station situated within a couple of minutes from hotel if needed. A lot of bars, eateries and convenience stores also nearby. Whilst being quite a lively area, particularly on a Saturday night, the hotel is set way back from the main road so is really quiet. Really cool bar, as good as any of the others you'll find in the area. The staff are also super friendly. Great rooms, nice layout and clean. Nice little touch with the galleys on each floor, which provide an assortments of teas. Good choice at breakfast (food and drink) - continental style.

It's difficult to find much fault with Ruby Ella, however, I'd say 24 Euro for breakfast is a little on the expensive side.

Lovely hotel, great location, quiet and comfortable with great staff and facilities.

We stayed at the Ruby in Köln and we are very happy with our choice. The main reasons for rating so highly are: Great location - short walk into the Altstadt or literally a one minute train ride from the station nearby. Parking is perfect - easy to park outside in designated space whilst checking in, and then a nice spacious and secure parking space underground was allocated for our stay - this is super convenient. Friendly, cool hotel, great facilities, lovely quiet rooms - checking in was super easy and we immediately felt very comfortable and welcome. Our room was perfect - clean, comfortable and quiet - we had the best sleep! Breakfast - this was superb. Again, super friendly and attentive team, coffees were served quickly (and often) and are really good quality. The buffet is perfect - really nice selection (including vegetarian options for my wife) and exactly what we wanted. Checkout - also very efficient, simply dropping the key card into the box. I can't think of any suggestions for improvement, however wanted to add some details about why this is such a great hotel in Köln, we will definitely choose the Ruby next time we visit Köln and are already checking out other cities where you are located.

Great property, new and clean, and good location. But the best part was the service. Every employee was super helpful

In our room there was very little space between the bed and the TV cabinet so I kept bumping into the corner of the bed and hurting myself. Perhaps they can cover the corners with something to prevent it from being so sharp

Hip and funky well-located hotel.

Great central location and very hip and funky in its decor. Nice touches like the Marshall speaker and Bluetooth speaker in the room. An excellent feature is the Galley on each floor with useful stuff like coffee and a (clean) iron and ironing board. Very handy if you need to spruce up that polo shirt before a night on the town.

I slightly downgraded the score for cleaning because, whilst the overall standard was good, some spilt crumbs of Pringles weren’t vacuumed up throughout my 3-day stay. I had tried to clean them up myself but it really needed a good vacuuming, which didn’t happen. Also, the wet room shower curtain needed replacing as it was rather manky at the bottom. To be fair, they were very busy as it was Euros 2024.

Fabulous themed and spacious communual areas, very professional staff and located close to the metro.

Despite paying for a better room it was small, lacked any form of refreshments, the toilet and shower were glass walled and in the room rather than being a separate area.

Hotel is centrally located, was within walking distance of everything, but also a metro station 2 mins walk from the hotel. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice and the staff were happy to help with anything.

Incredible and comfy stay

The breakfast was perfect. The attendees were incredible. Samuel (at night) was super friendly and receptive, providing an awesome service. Hamsa (in the morning) also provided an incredible breakfast service, making a perfect iced latte, and helping us with checkout. The rooms are super quiet and soundproof, so we didn't have to take care with the noise in the room. We also could leave our baggage in the hotel before our check-in, which was very handy. Everything was awesome.

Would love to have a cub of tea in my room I don't have to leave the room to iron room to get my cub of tea and even so when was there was not able to find the tea. Last day before dep while using the bathroom the upstairs bathroom started dropping it seems they have a problem with drainage

Good location, comfortable, awful noise insulation

Staff were courteous and polite, even warm. Location fantastic, right on the ring roads and near their surrounds, all of which are packed with activity, food, and shops, and very close to Friesenplatz, which is an interchange U-Bahn station. Bed was comfortable and the welcome chocolate and water were appreciated. I also appreciated the lack of carpeting, for hygiene reasons. However, this means more attention needs to be paid to noise insulation. Or maybe put down washable rugs or something. Simple but functional room, and I liked the wireless charger by the bed. Also the Köln moon lamp— very cute.

Noise insulation was terrible. Could hear footsteps thumping around upstairs, furniture dragging, things dropping, doors slamming, and if one of the neighbours plays loud music, you hear it. This hotel is definitely not for those with sensitive ears. Or, at least, some of the rooms certainly aren’t. Small thing: There is self check in— and not a very clear queue. So while I was standing there waiting, and it was finally my turn, a couple skipped past me and went ahead to check in at a terminal that was a bit hidden, perpendicular to the rest. I didn’t want to say anything because maybe they had had a long journey to get there and were tired. But of course I was a bit annoyed. Maybe an idea is to make it clear where the queue is and staff can signal to the next in line when a terminal is free.

Lovely little hidden gem

It was a lovely building hidden behind a main road and office buildings. The check in was easy and the hotel provided everything we needed. I love the ‘Galley’ where hot drinks and snacks were available. The room was spacious and clean - the glass shower cubicle inside the bedroom was fun, although the exterior curtain was welcome for privacy!

Lovely interior design, amazing room, tasty breakfast with lots of choices and great coffee, cozy bar and the location is just great, close to big tourist attractions and nightlife and plenty of restaurants. Super friendly staff as well. Absolute great value for money!

The pillows were too soft and I did miss scrambled eggs and bacon at breakfast.
