The property itself was pretty and had a nice view.

Unfortunately we had several issues with this booking during our short stay on Hvar which made our stay unsatisfactory. A few days prior to checking into the house, I messaged our host to get some information about check-in and that was the first time we were informed that the house was solar-powered and therefore could lose power if too many chargers we’re plugged in at the same time, AC units were running at the same time, etc. That was not reflected in the listing when we booked and it was a huge inconvenience. Additionally, it seemed that the house/facilities were not checked before we arrived. 1. The air conditioning did not work in 3 bedrooms when we arrived, which is a problem in the July heat. We messaged the host who sent an associate, the associate managed to fix one of the AC units but not the other two. 2. The power went out in the middle of the night and the generator did not work to turn the power back on, this was especially a problem because my aunt uses a sleep apnea machine and she woke up in the middle of the night unable to breathe. We were not able to use wifi, keep our food that was in the refrigerator, make coffee, do laundry, have AC, charge our phones, or open the gate for our taxi that was arriving at 9am until the host sent an associate in the morning to replace the generator battery. 3. The upstairs shower cut off water in the middle of use the first night and the following morning. The same thing happened the next evening with a different shower downdtairs. Also, both of these showers got scalding hot in the middle of the showers right before the water stopped. 4. Several of the screens on the doors were ripped half way out of the door frame. This was a problem because the AC was broken and we couldn’t even leave the doors open with the screened doors closed to get fresh air because the ripped screens let bugs into the house.
