Beautifully designed and very well located within a lovely quartier of Bordeaux. The ability to use the kitchen, dining room and drawing room independently is a real bonus for a city break. Thoughtful touches such as fresh water in the bedrooms. Good sized shower. Lovely breakfast

AC (we were here during a heatwave of 40c/105f)
Quiet at night. It might be different on the 1st floor (we were on the top/2nd floor so there was no one walking above us).
Shared kitchen is adequate for light cooking.
Laundry and a small grocery store basically at the end of the block. A very large grocery store (Auchan) is only a couple of minutes walk.
Big bath towels.
NOTE: Two rooms on the 1st floor (one flight of stairs) are Masai Mara and Encre de Chine. The other three rooms are on the 2nd floor.
No elevator
The bathroom window in the Mandalay room should have a blind to block out light at night or for napping (it doesn’t shine onto the bed so it was possible to sleep).
We would have liked other options for coffee besides Nespresso (perhaps French press or stove-top espresso maker).
Don’t expect AC to get the room cold; though it will make the room cooler. We didn’t find any climate controlled space in Bordeaux that was cold (except the public bus).

Quiet but convenient. Clean and comfortable. Delicious continental breakfast. Helpful staff.
We arrived early but could leave our luggage.
The spiral stone staircase is grand and monumental but we hadn’t anticipated having to carry our suitcases to the second floor. I should have checked if there was a lift.
