Robin Hood Tower

We absolutely loved our stay at Robin Hood Tower. Steve was so helpful with recommendations and his meet and greet. He showed us around and pointed out things such as the dog shower for our dog after his swims in the canal! The place is immaculate and the bed was extremely comfortable, we loved the log fire too! There are seats available outside for watching the canal and wildlife and the soothing sound of water running next to the tower! We did a walk along the canal upto Cromford, had lunch at the cafe at the mill, then hopped on the train to Ambergate and walked back along the canal. We also walked in the woodland and then visited Crich Stand via the National Tramway Museum. We had an absolutely gorgeous weekend - thank you!

The driveway was a little scary!

The stay was absolutely perfect - The whole experience started way before getting there - I had a number of questions about the area and some logistical things such as transport (using public transport rather than driving) and Steve, one of the hosts, very kindly offered to call so we could have a clear discussion about everything and he really was able to answer so much. During our stay, we were very kindly offered numerous times to be driven and dropped off to the locations we were going to (wedding in the area and train station) so we did not have to book a taxi, which was something so unexpected but made things so much easier. The stay itself is absolutely beautiful too - with the living room downstairs, kitchen on the middle floor, and bed- and bathroom upstairs, it was all very easy to get to everything, and at no point we felt like it was too small, too big, too messy - it was genuinely perfect. My partner and I were only there for two nights, but we both felt like this is the kind of place we would want to stay if we wanted to go away from the city for a number of weeks. The surrounding areas are absolutely stunning too, at the property there are enough locations and benches to sit and enjoy the sounds of nature and relax, and in the evening we could look up and see the stars so clearly, so if you love your astrophotography, this is a great place to take photos! The stay was quiet, remote, but did not feel old - my partner and I slept like absolute babies, even after a very long night at the wedding where we got back at 2:30 AM! Smart TV in the living room with Netflix, Disney+ etc, and wifi was more than fast enough for everything we needed. All in all - we had the most incredible stay and we will be coming back!

Clean, comfortable and a great location

A quirky characterful property, set in nature and a peaceful quiet location

It was perfect for us. Some may find the steep drive in to the property a challenge in a larger car but the setting is worth it.
