Andochine Villas Resort & Spa Phu Quoc - All Villas with Private Pool

Overall the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. Tammy reached out to connect the day before the stay and was a available by text for any requests. The property was a 10min walk to a night market. The breakfast was amazing, and the restaurant on site also served delicious food.

Wifi signal in the rooms could have been better. It is also difficult to move around when it rains, although there were buggies readily available to ferry you around.

This was the perfect end to almost a month away travelling in Vietnam. These villa's were by far the best accommodation we had and the staff here go above and beyond with every single query. Rendy was amazing and always available to help. The staff at the restaurant were also incredible - one lady in particular whose name I never managed to get, but she was super helpful with all food requests especially with kids who had allergies. 100% recommend staying here - perfect relaxing end. Pool was just what we needed.

Staff were courteous and helpful. The main swimming pool is pleasant. Everything is impeccably clean. I had originally booked a 2 bedroom villa but ended up switching to a 1 bedroom as that had a really nice downstairs living room and kitchen (the 2 bedroom has no living room - see below). Proper fridge where you could make ice. Free drinking water every day. Bed very comfortable. Excellent shower and good quality toiletries. Nice to have a smart TV with lots of streaming services available (although you had to work out how to change the operating language, as everything was in Vietnamese). Wifi was fine. Only 15 minutes from the airport. Free electric buggy services. Food isn't great (see below) but is very reasonably priced for a resort.

The private pools at the 1 and 2 bedroom villas have no steps of any kind, so unless you're fit enough to jump in and climb out, you can't actually use the pool. The layout of the 2 bedroom villas is peculiar - upstairs has a big bedroom and bathroom, downstairs has a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen but nowhere to sit and relax. You can't sit in the garden either as there is too little space (and just two chairs - deck chairs, not loungers). In other words, if you want a good-sized private pool which you can get in and out of, a garden and living space you have to take a 3 or 4 bedroom villa which is much more expensive and doesn't make sense unless you have a larger group. The choice of food in the restaurant is limited and the quality varies. Basically, because the resort is so close to Phu Quoc centre and there is an extensive free transport service, most people probably go there to eat or buy food and cook in their villa. As a result, the restaurant is full at breakfast but almost empty in the evening, which probably explains why food is not a focus for the resort. It all depends what kind of holiday you're looking for. If you want to spend your time out and about exploring Phu Quoc, or have kids who can play in the pool at your villa, Andochine is a good base and offers good value. If you just want to chill out and relax at a luxury resort without needing to go anywhere else, this isn't the best choice.
