The street noise

This was our only hotel stay during the trip, and it was nice to stay at a family hotel. It was also nice to have our only buffet breakfast of the trip. We stayed in Zimmer 3, which had a small separate room for the children, which was really helpful. Finally, it was interesting to see pictures in the attached restaurant (same owners) of the street (including the hotel) in the pre-Schengen era. There used to be a border crossing only a block away!

Clean and spacious for a family of four, perfect for visiting Aachen with bus stop right outside hotel. safe parking round the corner. staff incredibly helpful and kind!

They turned off the heating during the whole night. Only evening and morning were warm. Seems like they think the guests wouldn't notice it while they are sleeping. The whole corridor and stairs smelled like a toilet. I booked for several nights but decided to leave after the first night and stayed in another hotel. Staff were good. Parking was a bit far away.

The origin of the problem is BOOKING COM, but we are also unhappy with the negligence of the Vallis hotel staff. I made one room one night reservation on my name ( which includes my husband’s name) for 4 persons and gave to Booking.com my husband's email as a second address for receiving information. Somehow, Booking took this email address to reserve ANOTHER (4p) room at Vallis for the same night on the Booking account of my husband which had kept his CC details. We did not realize that there was a second reservation made (which was not made by my husband!). There were so many emails (mostly Spam) on our both email addresses coming from Booking about hotel Vallis that was impossible to follow them during our holidays. When we arrived at Vallis we presented with our names. The responsible person at the hotel gave us one room and did not inform us that there were 2 rooms reserved on the same family name. Only later that week, when we came home, we saw our CC bills and that each of us had paid a room at Vallis that night. We asked Booking for explanation, but their answer was that these are 2 reservations and that’s it; they did not want to discuss how they made ‘s y husband reservation just by having his email address. We also asked Vallis to confirm that they had had 2 rooms for us that night. NO reply. It is really appalling to see how BOOKING is using personal data and CC accounts. Also, it is disappointing to see the lack of professionalism at the hotel.

The origin of our problem with this reservation is BOOKING.COM . I reserved one room for our family (4p) on my name (which includes my husband's family name!). As a second email address I gave my husbands' email address (which he had previously used for BOOKING>COM ). For some reason, BOOKING created a NEW Reservation on my husband's name using his account and charging his CC for a second room. We did not notice this, we were on holidays at that time and there were so many BOOKING emails, mostly SPAM, that we believed these all concerned the same ONE reservation made by me. When we arrived at Vallis we presented at the hotel with our names. The responsible person gave us one room and did not inform us we had actually TWO rooms reserved on our names. Only later that week when we returned home and we received our CC bills, we saw that each of us paid for a room at Vallis . BOOKING did not see any problem, they claim these are 2 separate reservations and that's it. They do not react on the question how BOOKING creates new reservations and charges CCs just by holding people's personal data. We asked the Hotel to confirm that they really had 2 rooms reserved for us for this night, NO answer. In short: It is appalling to see how BOOKING uses personal data. We are obviously not happy also with the Vallis Hotel because of their negligence.
