The heating was a major drawback. The room was uncomfortably cold to the extend that I had to sleep with clothes on!

- location - room

- Unfortunately cannot recommend this property at all. - very strong cigarette smell in common areas and our room (smelt like someone had been smoking in there for a week and hadn’t opened the windows once) - owner walks around indoors smoking, despite no smoking signs in property and advertised as non-smoking on booking.com - Difficult check-in process with calling the owner. - Listing had washing machines as an amenity (and multiple are located in the bathrooms), however got in trouble for using them and was forced by landlord to dry clothes in common hallway, as he did not like the smell of laundry soap in the rooms - the very strong smell of cigarette smoke apparently ok!

It's okay because it's cheap. It's like an AirBnB. Don't expect hotel services.

The location is excellent. Within a 3-minute walk you can access the subway station, bus terminal, supermarket, pharmacy, sports shop, cafe, etc. The shared area is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, kettle, tableware, cutlery, etc. It was very useful.

I was traveling alone as a female guest and had an uncomfortable experience. While I was unwell and resting in my room wearing pajamas, a male hotel staff member knocked on my door and asked if they could pass through my room to access the rooftop. He was accompanied by four or five other men. Although I felt uneasy, I reluctantly agreed. They all entered my room, and while most went to the rooftop, one man stayed inside my room for several minutes, which made me feel very uncomfortable. If I had not been in the room, I am concerned that they might have entered without permission. I believe that entering a solo guest’s private room, especially a female traveler, with multiple male staff members is not appropriate. I hope the hotel will improve guest privacy and safety procedures.

Clean and nice kitchen and room.

Upon arrival we couldn’t get in until the neighbour helped us but the property guy never helped us get inside or message so was kinda weird and then begged us for a good review when we left. The location is also a train ride from anything good.

Not bad for one night, but would definitely look for a different place if we wanted to stay longer in Hamburg.

The host is kind and will personally give the information about the apartment. He also waited for us in the morning and offered some coffee, which was very friendly. Another good thing is that it is possible to park a car in the garage right across the property for only 4,50€ per day, which we found extremely useful.

The photos do not show the room we actually got. It was in the basement without any real windows. The bathroom was extremely small and uncomfortable to use (especially for taller people, who might bump into the pipes above the shower while using it). The bed was very hard and difficult to sleep in.

Great location and super clean room

The room was pretty good! The bathroom and kitchen are shared, I thought it would not be clean, but It was pretty clean. The location is very good, there are markets and restaurants around. It takes 20 minutes with Ubahn and Sbahn to go to the city center. It is recommended. The owner has cute dog that means animal lover :)

Room is new and really nice. Good bathroom and bed. Location is good, close to shops and public transport.

Everything smelled like smoke. Check-in had to be done by calling the owner who only speaks German, and he hung up on me the first time because he didn't understand English. And we were woken up at 7:15am after a long travel day the day before. They knocked on our door multiple times and said "open the door, it is important!!"... Turned out they couldn't find the coffee pot and wanted to ask if we took it???? Also the walls are really thin, so you hear music and people continually.

A wonderful Stay!

Everything was amazing according to me and my GF Kony, the place is beautiful, and even with the shared kitchen and bathroom, everyone manage to take care of their stuff. Warm rooms, nice wifi, nice comunication, everything works perfectly and the owner is a very nice person who do his best to speak with us in english. Good place to stay for the night, worth the price. But we were not lucky with the basement.

The bed is large and comfortable. Great kitchen, it had everything you need to cook. I especially liked the dishes, very unusual and beautiful. Despite the lack of windows, the kitchen is cozy. Clean shower and toilet. There is also a huge TV with speakers, but we didn't use it. The room is quiet. Also decorated with various items that looked cute.

The room was in the basement. There was no view from the window, it was unpleasant to open it. We had big suitcases, no lift. Therefore, the check-in to the lower floor was difficult.

Very Clean, Easy Access to Transit / Airport, Confusing Check-in, Good Value Overall

I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the place was kept; the cleaning staff were there daily and the bathroom and kitchens appeared to have been disinfected in addition to fresh towels being added, rooms being vacuumed and bedding being changed. It was actually one of the cleanest hostels I've been in. The shower was also very large with good water pressure and temperature and (hallelujah) a functioning drain. There was also a small bathroom window which let in natural light and served as a vent. The other best feature of the place was that it was only about a 4 minute walk to an S line train which was just a 20 minute ride to the airport, as well as the underground trains which connect to other parts of the city. The room was also quite tastefully decorated, which gave it a more homey rather than hotel feel. The mid-sized refrigerator was nice and cold with plenty of space and a working freezer. The hotplate at the end of the hall worked well, and the dishware was very clean.

There were no instructions received in advance on how to enter the property, and when I contacted the host I was directed to call him upon arrival. This created uncertainty and inconvenience, particularly as my roaming cell reception was unreliable and costly. When I did call, the host wasn't sure which room I was in and had me open two empty lock boxes before we finally found keys in the third. Since I'd thought I'd reserved an ensuite and instead had a shared bathroom, I was never quite sure if I'd been given the correct room or just been confused during booking (the picture in my confirmation was different). The hostel is located in a high-trafficked area, so the traffic noise was very loud. The windows blocked the sound admirably, but in the heat of summer it was not always possible to keep them closed. A neighbor also kept their television on all night, and although the walls did dull the sound considerably, I still found it necessary to wear ear plugs. There was no front desk, but the host was standing outside the building in the early morning on both days of my stay and engaged me in conversation as I would leave. At first I didn't know who he was until he asked me if I had everything I needed, which threw me a bit, but he seemed genuinely concerned for my comfort and interested in providing a good service.
