Château L'Escale

das ganze setting ist wunderbar, schon die einfahrt zum schloss ist toll, dann steht man davor und denkt wow. sehr schön zurechtgemacht das ganze. der schlossherr hat uns begrüßt und ein bisschen erzählt, ein tolles lebensprojekt. nicht nur das schloss beeindruckt, auch die gärten, nebst swimmingpool, meditationsraum, festzelt und einem see machen das ganze einzigartig. die zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet, es gibt einen schönen salon mit bibliothek zum aufhalten, wenn man möchte. außerdem finden selbstversorger eine gute küche, alles sehr sauber und liebevoll zurechtgemacht, auch das frühstück hat uns gefallen. ein billardzimmer gab es auch. wir waren mit fahrrädern dort und konnten diese sicher unterstellen. wir waren eine nacht dort und uns einig, dass das zu kurz war, hier kann man es sehr gut ein paar tage lang aushalten, schon allein wegen der vielen ausweichmöglichkeiten, wie park, pool, etc.

Ein toll renoviertes Chateau mit allem, was man sich wünschen kann. Großes Bad, schönes Zimmer, überdachter Pool mit Gewächshaus-Ambiente. Sehr zuvorkommender Gastgeber, sehr freundlich und sprachflexibel. Leckeres Abendessen und tolles Frühstück.

Beautiful period property, being lovingly restored by owners with great style. The rooms were all beautifully and uniquely decorated with flair. The chateau is set in beautiful grounds and wonderfully peaceful. The owners could not have done more to make us feel welcome and to accommodate us, including organising taxis to take us to dinner at very short notice.

We arrived in the midst of a heatwave and on arrival we sat on the grass in front of the Chateau under an enormous Oak tree to cool down after our ride up from the Loire. Vincent, the owner and host, promptly brought us a cold drink. We felt immediatly welcome. The Chateau has been tastefully renovated. Our room and en suite bathroom were beautifully decorated and very well appointed with everything we could have wanted. A refreshing dip in the pool and cold local beer in the orchard was gorgeous. Dinner was simple, at our request, delicious local pate with a fresh baguette, salted butter and bottle of ice cold Rose enjoyed in the Chateau garden. Continental breakfast was perfect with local produce and our bikes were locked in the barn overnight. It is a little way off the Loire cycle route but it was one of the highlights of our 10 day trip around Brittany and Loire and would highly recommend it. If we are passing this way again we will make a point of staying again.
