HOSTS - No host on premises—cottage all to yourselves

This is the second time we have stayed here. It is so cozy and adorably decorated. The cabin has everything you need and is immaculate. We just hang around and feed the longhorns and the deer and then go to Fredericksburg to eat or shop. There is also a good Mexican restaurant in Harper (15 min away). Just perfect for a getaway for a couple.

Run Away ranch in Harper, Texas is a peaceful cabin and place to relax. Is always kept nice and clean, and everything you could possibly need is there, just take your own personal belongings. Enjoy the deer, and the Longhorn steer. The perfect cabin for one or two.

It was so peaceful and quiet. We needed that little recharge:) The longhorns were fun to watch and to feed. I personally am a little scared of cows, so the gentleness of those huge babies was a relief for me. We would absolutely go back to enjoy the quiet again.

I brought my 17yo son out to West Texas for a father and son getaway and we had a spectacular time at your property. Our primary reason to coming out to the area was to fish/kayak the South Llano River, which we did and had an amazing time. I have to say we had equally as good of a time just hanging out at the ranch. It was comparable to a zoo with all the animals we saw. My son had an amazing time feeding the animals, fishing in the pond and just enjoying the property. The house was very well stocked. We will definitely be back. Scott R Spring, TX

We really enjoyed our stay at the bunkhouse it was well stocked with all we needed We had 30 deer and longhorns greeted us it was great to see them we really enjoyed having the feed there to be able to feed the deer and the cattle. Very nice assortment for the continental breakfast. The owners made it very welcoming and we enjoyed being out away from everything very quiet and very secluded thank you very much

This little cabin was absolutely perfect. It was perfectly appointed and was by no means “roughing it”. Whoever decorated this little gem has such talent! The cabin is completely private - no neighbors other than the longhorns and deer that love to be fed. The town of Harper is about 15 minutes down the road where there are two restaurants - we only ate at The Longhorn Cafe (great food), but the other looked busy. WiFi worked well if you need it. If you want a peaceful get away with all the amenities, this is it!

We just love Run Away Ranch, our 2nd visit was perfect. My future husband wanted to make sure I had a perfect birthday. The cows are so fun to feed, all the stars in the sky. There is this silly donkey right outside the ranch, and his cute cow they hangout together. Just whistle at him and he comes running. Can't wait to go back we wanted to stay longer.

cabin was wonderful...so much attention to details....we loved it! the deer were unbelievable!!!and the longhorns amazing....we had a great quiet stay. The drive out is quite far, but worth it once you get there....the only issue was the coffee pot didn't work very well...and you should tell people how far it is so they would take groceries with them. would love to go back again!

This was location was true to its listing. Comfortable, clean, everything we needed. Bed was comfy. Beautiful sunset views and lots of animals. Counted up to 16 deer hanging around. The longhorns are fun. Also saw a fox, roadrunner, rabbits, hog, and lots of different birds. Good for stargazing but would have been better without barn lights on. Away from civilization but good anchor point - we made day trips to Fredericksburg, Kerrville, South Llano State Park/Junction and Garner State Park. We loved the quietness of the location and would stay here again. :) Great place to slow down and relax.

Great Getaway

A great place to get away from it all and relax. We really enjoyed giving treats to the cows. We are Birdwatchers so usually venture over to Junction for some Birdwatching and BBQ but since it was cold and wet this time we just hung around the bunkhouse. We love the decor in the bunkhouse, very well furnished, had everything we needed. Thanks for letting us stay here.

I stayed at the Run Away Ranch for a weekend of stargazing, and it was absolutely perfect. The bunkhouse had everything that I needed, as well as some very nice upgrades. The bed was super-comfortable--the best night's sleep I've had in a while! WiFi worked great. The Longhorns were beautiful, as were the deer, and helped keep me company on my weekend alone. And the owners were so kind to let me move my weekend due to the weather. Would absolutely stay here again!

Let me start of by saying WOW!!! Completely exceeded our expectations! Our stay here at the cabin was a perfect get away from the big city. Super clean with all the amenities you will ever need. The Cabin was everything and more. After over a year of quarantine, Illness and medical issues, this was the perfect place to get away from it all. It was very homey. We loved the cabin and especially loved being able to watch the deer and feed the Longhorns. We will definitely be back!!!

A great place to get away from it all, located off the besten path in the Texas hill Country. We loved feeding the Longhorns and Deer, also had Jackrabbits and Birds to watch too. We celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary here, a great quiet place to be out together at. We loved the decor in the Bunkhouse, so many great ideas for decor. We loved every minute of our stay at Run Away Ranch. The bunkhouse was so cozy and had everything we needed and more. Felt like a cared for guest with all of the extra touches. Loved the privacy, long horns and deer. Already looking ahead to our next visit.

This is the place to go for all the peace that a person/couple might need. Very clean, everything you need in this cabin, all you need is your clothes and food to eat. Visting Fredericksburg isn't to far away, and a beautiful drive. The deer and longhorns are a wonderful sight to see. They enjoyed being fed. I can't express how peaceful this is. We have stayed at BnB's for 9 years around the area, and this is the most peaceful one so far.
