This cabin was exactly what I envisioned when I was seeking a getaway for some much needed time for reflection and solitude. A peaceful sanctuary to enjoy spotting wild animals of all types, gazing at the stars, and just slowing down on the back porch.
Note that the description says the hosts do not live on the property, but they occasionally visit to tend the property, and stay in the house next door to the cabin. Butch & Patty are very thoughtful and completely respectful of your privacy if they happen to be there. If you seek complete solitude, Gastehaus Schmidt could probably let you know when you are booking if the owners have plans to be onsite.

Very peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed the animals - longhorn steers, deer, jack rabibits, road runners, and lots of birds.

Let me start of by saying WOW!!! Completely exceeded our expectations! Our stay here at the cabin was a perfect get away from the big city. Super clean with all the amenities you will ever need. The Longhorns, the deer and the bunnies were so enjoyable. The Longhorns ate right out of our hands and was excited to see us when we returned. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you Butch and Patty for having us at your cabin. Nathan & Shannon
