About this cabin rental

Within 25 acres of privately-owned property, our cabin sits within walking (or driving) distance of the beautiful Llano river. Guests can enjoy 1000 feet of private river access with both a large lake area and riffles/rapids, making this a great refuge for tubers, kayakers, canoers, fly fishers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Our cabin's comfortable back porch is also a wonderful place to enjoy birdwatching while enjoying the quiet babble of the river rapids. The front yard also provides the perfect spot for viewing the nighttime sky.

The cabin provides the following accommodations:

It was peaceful and quiet. No sounds of traffic or loud people. Lots of trees and birds. Sufficient room for 4 people. Back porch view is beautiful. Easy walk to the river. The first aide was appreciated and helpful for my youngest grandson. Lots of good books to read. Minor negative thing, The can opener was dull but with bit more effort I was able to use it.

My Family and I stayed at this property in March for 5 days and had a lot of fun in the river. We enjoyed being fully unplugged- no internet, no T-mobile cell service. We brought games, kayaks, and fishing gear and spent from 9am-8pm walking up and down the river fishing and playing. In the evening we reheated previously made meals and went into Junction for burgers one night and BBQ another. (Best to hit up BBQ earlier as we went so late we didn’t have many options. Bed was comfortable, plenty of bath towels. This is a place to be outside and although we couldn’t have a fire with the burn ban the stargazing was incredible too! I w we as glad we grocery shopped prior to our arrival so we could maximize our time on the river. But generally this place had all you’d need for simple unplugged living.

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful. It was a very private home with wonderful views. Our dogs enjoyed swimming in the river and running around. It takes a lot to wear them out but they slept good. The hosts were very responsive.

We were out alone on the river. It was clean, peaceful, and comfortable. We were in the small house which we think is larger than the pictures make it look. We enjoyed morning coffee and views at the large house as no one else was there. The owners were communicative and kind.

Good get away. No wifi and pretty much no cell service. Water front listing is misleading. Can see river from the barn but not the cabin. Getting to the private river access is hard. Walking trail to river is hard. If you are not in great health you would not want to attempt it. Driving REQUIRES a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We had a good time though.

We were seeking a chance to spend some time relaxing with our dogs after a difficult year. We spent time fly fishing, making smores at the campfire, walking the property, watching the sunset and reading. We spent Christmas at the cabin and appreciated that we were welcomed with a small Christmas tree and decorations to make the weekend special. Perfect location to get away from the distractions of life.

The cabin was adorable comfy bed and linens very clean but the porch was the best beautiful sunset and relaxing watching the birds at the feeder no burn ban so we cooked outside stars were amazing we hiked a bit and the river was running great Rene and mark were very accommodating and they put. a lot of effort Into making it the Perfect getaway it is hard to get back to the hustle and bustle of weekly life thanks for a wonderful time

We enjoyed our stay in this secluded cabin. The place was clean, was stocked with various condiments in the kitchen and bathroom available to use, and is a short walk down to a quiet spot on the river.

Loved loved loved this property! Very neat and clean, owners were quick to respond to our questions and so kind! The river below was nice! Recommend good shoes to walk down and enjoy but loved the water. On our second day, we took the 20 min. Drive into town to go to the Llano State Park for the South Llano River and found a beautiful spot to walk in and post a few chairs and swim! Our pups enjoyed the property and cabin area, they ran and played with plenty of space outside. There is no wifi and we enjoyed it just fine! The stars at night were bright and in the morning we enjoyed our coffee on the porch with the gorgeous view! Will definitely add this property to our future plans and come back again! Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your property and amenities! :)

The was the perfect place we were looking for, for us and our 2 fur babies. The river did not disappoint on its beauty. The dogs loved every minute of running around - exhausting themselves. We enjoyed our evenings on the back porch listening to the rippling sounds of the Llano river flowing. And we witnessed the most gorgeous sunsets every evening. We could not have asked for a more perfect vacation. We will surely be back to Terra Firma again.

Other than a clogged pea trap in the kitchen sink, the house was better than expected. When entering, I was surprised that all A/C units were blasting cold air. The back porch was quiet and relaxing, expected to see more stars at night and would have, expect for the "plump" moon. Required mascarpone cheese for a special dessert, but left at home. Went to Lowes grocery and was surprised to find a cheaper price. Surprise, surprise. Check this one out, you wont be disappointed.

I suggest making sure dishes are washed thoroughly before putting them away or opening the cabin to the next users, as I almost used items from the shelf and cabinets that were dirty from previous use. I suggest providing a sponge or scrub brush for (or a dish washer) for dish-washing as there was nothing nearby to wash dishes with, so I used a washcloth from the restroom. I suggest stocking this cabin with nicer coffee mugs. The listing claims that five people can stay here, yet there were only three coffee mugs in the cabinet and two of those are dingy, stained and cracked, & not in a quaint, shabby-chic way. I had hoped the cabin overlooked the river but it does not. Llano River was unpleasantly warm because of Super Drought ‘22 and warmer temperatures, and there was bubbly scum along its edges and blue-green algae-looking growth in the shallows, through no fault of the owners, of course, but it definitely decreased my enjoyment. The bed was comfortable with very soft sheets, with worn, much-used end tables & lamps beside it. The window units did a good job of cooling the place, and I saw lots of birds at the feeder. The patio was very nice. When I opened the living room curtains, the while curtain rod + weighty curtains fell down on me. There was deer poop all over the ground every place we walked on site. The deer must be able to spring over all the fences everywhere on the property. There are an abundance of gates. I had to open three separate gates to get to the river. Quite the process. I had trouble getting access to the property because the owners forgot to send me Access details, for which they apologized. But in about fifteen minutes, they called me back and helped me get in. In short, the cabin was adequate and a good price. With a bit more attention to detail by the owners, and with less relentlessly dry, infernal weather, it would be a total pleasure.

My husband brought me here for my 50th. Setting was PERFECT! Location! Truly in the middle of nowhere! The property is right off the highway and so is the cabin. When I saw on a map where it was, I assumed that we'd hear lots of traffic. There was very few vehicles going by. Not a problem at all. I would recommend being VERY aware of deer activity, etc while driving from Junction or Harper, especially as there are many exotic ranches along the way. LOVED this property! We brought our 12 year old active arthritic dog. She had a blast but fyi, the large rocks to get to river access was a bit tough for her. I would imagine for older people also. The calmer part of the river was an easy drive up. As for the rest, PERFECT! The cabin was nice. No complaints. The back porch view was very nice and really enjoyed that the campfire pit was level with the house instead of down by the river. We brought our blow up kayaks and enjoyed the calm side of the river with them one day and went to South Llano State park another day which isn't far. My husband caught several small bass while there at the property also. Booking was very easy. Questions answered right away as needed. Check out was easy. No crazy requests about cleaning before you leave. Hope to be back again with friends and family.
