About this cabin rental

Our cabin is located in a quiet, private cabin community surrounding a beautiful lake. There is one bedroom and an open loft. Picture yourself have your morning coffee or evening wine on the big front porch looking at the lake. You can take it easy and relax in the middle of nature or you can fish, bike, hike, canoe or kayak all within minutes of the cabin. There are breweries, wineries, golfing and historic places to tour all around, as well. Perfect for couples, families and getaways with friends. We provide free wi-fi and we have a TV with a Firestick to enjoy your favorite shows. We have a fire pit available to sit around at night to roast s’mores, as well. This is a quiet community and we do not allows parties to occur at the cabin during your visit. A maximum of six guests are allowed for the entire stay. We ask that you bring your own towels. We do provide all of the bed linens for your stay.
The wood burning stove cannot be used. For rentals in the winter, it would be best if you have a four wheel drive vehicle. Roads in the community can get challenging in bad weather.

Owners of the home were very accommodating to our stay. From walking into the cabin the vibe was very homey and was well furnished to enjoy the stay. Very very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our quick visit to this beautiful cabin. We loved how close it was to Foxburg! The lake this cabin on is so peaceful and It is in a quiet neighborhood. There is a Nice front porch and the cabin is so cozy. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and so accessible and accommodating. Our son (who is almost two) loved the loft (We took a gate for the top of the steps). We hope to make it back someday. Thank you!!

Cabin is located in a nice cabin neighborhood close to Emlenton and the Allegheny River Trail. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. Cabin has everything you need (other than a microwave😮). We enjoyed the American Grille in Foxburg. Definitely hope to be back. Thanks for sharing your cabin!

My family stayed here for a couple days snd we really enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The view was lovely and it was a nice quiet community. My 4 yr old LOVED the cute bear theme and called herself "goldilocks" the whole time. The owners were very kind and responsive and even had a fire burning for us when we arrived. Thankfully the owners warned us ahead of time about bringing drinking water since the water at the cabin wasnt really drinkable and that the ground was very soggy due to a lot of recent rain so we were prepared. Unfortunately VRBO had this property listed as 2 bathrooms when it only had one. Also the listing had "linens provided" but there were no bath towels or washcloths in the cabin. Thankfully we were able to head out and buy some nearby, but "linens provided" was a bit misleading. Hoping whoever reads this makes sure they bring extra towels. Despite the two listing discrepancies, we really had a nice time and would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who enjoys a quiet rustic lake cabin.

My partner and I felt right at home at this property when we stayed for a last minute weekend getaway. We didn’t get to check out the lake since it snowed most of our stay, so we embraced the snow globe cabin vibes and made good use of the available board games and reading chairs! From the moment we first arrived at the property we were awe struck with how beautiful it was inside and out. The cleanliness and attentions to detail were perfection. The view from inside and outside was phenomenal. Sitting on a beautiful lake view it was great waking up every morning to sit on the porch and enjoy the view and nature around you in irs splendor. This place is the absolute getaway for anyone wanting to have a cozy quiet amd peaceful getaway to relax and enjoy so much needed rest. The cabin was stocked with all necessary tools the only things you need to provide are bottled water, towels and food. We absolutely loved our time there and can't wait to return. We highly recommend this cabin, you will not regret it.

My family enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for to have a weekend away. Nice little kitchen, comfortable, close enough to a couple places to eat and a grocery store. I don’t know how long it had been since someone slept in the twin beds, but the regular twin bed had an awful smell. We ended up taking turns on the futon so we didn’t need to use it. The other bigger beds were nice though, and the futon was also comfortable for sleeping. Overall we had a good experience.

We had a lovely anniversary get away at this cabin. Prior to arrival, the owners were very easy to communicate with. The cabin was immaculate and well appointed. The property is very, very clean and tidy which I really appreciate. Marcy and Erich are excellent hosts and responded quickly to questions.. Within a 10-45 min drive you are close to a wide array of biking and hiking trails. Miraculously there were no mosquitoes. so we could sit on the porch and watch the moon rise every night.

The cabin is in a private, scenic lake community. It was the perfect spot for our long weekend getaway. It is a little remote; so we planned ahead and brought in everything we needed to cook out all weekend. We did have to bring water because the well is not potable and our own tailgating grill, as there is not a grill available. With all that in mind, it was everything we were looking for. When we first arrived, we were in absolute awe of how cozy the setting was. The cabin is in such a beautiful location—the lake was in perfect view. With the heat this time of year, the cabin took a while to cool down, however with all the recommendations on things to do given by the family, we didn’t mind at all. My friends and I absolutely recommend staying here, thank you for your hospitality!!

We had a great time and loved the location. We went fishing at clear creek state park during the day and had a fire at the cabin after. I forgot things for smores and when we showed up the owners left us some on the counter which was a nice surprise! The cabin was nice and cozy and would love to stay here again

Lovely stay in this cozy cabin! Enjoyed walking around the lake, watching the geese and ducks. The cabin is clean and well maintained. A few things to note: there is no grill, microwave, bath/hand towels or drinking water. Would definitely not prevent me from returning, but required some extra planning, as I was flying in from Arizona. The bedding and pillows provided were clean and of high quality. The porch swing was my favorite and one of my reasons for booking. Owner communication was excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to book with Marcy and Erich again. Two places I would recommend: Allegheny Grill, 10 minutes away and Deer Creek Winery, 30 minutes. Enjoy!

We LOVED ot here! Cabin was beautiful and and clean. The owners were wonderful, left their personal numbers in case we needed to reach them and accommodated our stay last minute. They were very thoughtful and left us stuff to make smores. Everyone in the neighborhood was friendly, smiled and waved to us. The view of the lake from the front is beautiful and we spent most of our time on the porch swing. It was such a relaxing trip and just what we needed. We would 100 percent go back!

We jokingly entered in the guestbook that we "couldn't get to sleep for the noisy bullfrogs and crickets and were rudely awakened by the cacophony of bird song in the morning." In truth, these were two of the features we really enjoyed at the Shawnee Lane Cabin. With our first cup of coffee in the morning and our binoculars, we set up on the roomy porch (with swing, rocker and assorted porch chairs) over looking Johnston Lake, and started counting the bird species we saw and heard. Great fun, Late evening was also nice, with the backdrop of natural hum from the bullfrogs, crickets and such. The cabin itself was quite comfortable, and the large hewn beams across the open great room very attractive. Bedroom and loft were comfortable, and the bathroom sizable. We cooked our meals, and found the kitchen area, though compact, very serviceable. The good size refrigerator was appreciated. We were able to purchase needed supplies at the IGA in nearby Emlenton, a lovely small town perched on the banks of the Allegheny River. In our short visit, we were able to access the Allegheny River Trail, including the 2,800ft. Rockland (Woodhill) Tunnel, and sample area antique dealers. We are planning in the near future for a longer stay.
