Villa La Asomada, Playa Blanca

L’emplacement est idéal, calme et sécurisé. Le logement est spacieux et fonctionnel. La piscine de taille idéal. Les équipements tel que la machine à laver, machine à café … sont appréciables.

La literie de la chambre double du fond était inconfortable, l’ensemble du linge de lit (y compris oreiller et couvre lit) étaient tachés, abîmés et de mauvaise qualité. Les mauvaises odeurs venant de la salle de bain parentale.

We were received with wine and fruits. The host was very receptive, with a quick answer, and helped us with our demands !For families: you can find sand toys for children and other things that you can use for pool and when you go to the beach. The weather was very nice, the water temperature was great (ocean and pool- we preferred the beach). In conclusion, it was a great vacation, a very nice villa. Thank you !

The villa is attached to 2 others, but only by the bathrooms so noise from the other properties wasn't an issue. There is plenty of space for 6 people. It was clean, although is showing its age in a few areas. Josefa responds very quickly to any messages. The pool is relatively small (approx 6.5 m x 2 m) but it was big enough for the 5 of us to use and importantly, as far as I could see, the pool area is not overlooked by any other properties. The area is very quiet. We don't mind walking but just to be aware, the nearest supermarket is about 15 minutes walk, and the Marina area is about another 5-10 minutes from there. There were rental scooters always available outside the complex, which is gated and secure. There is a number 30 bus stop opposite the supermarket, that goes from the the Pappagayo area right through the main bus station and on to the Volcano at Montana Roja and back again, which is useful as the main bus station is at least 30 minutes walk. Local beers (Tropical / San Miguel) were cheap enough, but exported ones e.g. Guinness was 5-6 euros. Wine was strangely expensive in the restaurants, as it is dirt cheap in the supermarkets.

Not a fault of the property but it could be difficult to get a taxi home (although they are cheap when you get one, 4Euros from the Marina). We did have to walk home a few times. The main issue I think, and one mentioned in other reviews is the air con (or lack of). The lounge has air con, and so does the master en-suite bedroom. However the other double room had only a fan and the twin room had nothing at all. Only one of the remotes for air con works, which I reported to Josefa, so you have to use 1 remote for both rooms. We did find we couldn't lock either of the patio doors, which I reported to Josefa, so hopefully resolved for future visitors. The wider area around the villa is undeveloped, but there are developments underway, so you do get a bit of moonscape when walking around. Again no fault of the villa, but the bars were a bit samey, more food and drink, rather than music bars. This applies even walking further into Playa Blanca town.
