NAP Hostel Spaccanapoli

Great location just off the Main Shopping Street and bus stop for Tourist Bus Pick ups and the Toldeo Metro. A quiet lane way - but a little steep for anyone with walking problems carry a suitcase. Rooms are up 4 flights of stairs. I chose a Private Room - so large double bed with high ceilings and shower and toilet area were very clean. Dorm Rooms looked clean with a Mix of Single Beds and Bunks. Breakfast was nice : Pastries, Egg Fritta, ,Vegetables,Cakes, Fruit, Tea and Coffee so enough for starting the day. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the garden area and bar were nice for socialising

Kitchen and garden close at 11pm - and staff tell people to go to their rooms - so nowhere to sit and chill or chat to fellow travellers. I understand the balance with the neighbours, but some of the neighbours were nosier with their cars coming and going, and noises from their apartments! A social dinner only on a Friday - I was there Sunday to Thursday, so it would have been nice to have something social at least 1-2 other nights during the week.

The hostel is located right in the city center, which is very convenient. I received clear instructions on how to find the place and all the rules via email before arrival, making check-in smooth. I really appreciated the ability to store luggage before and after check-in, as well as the nice garden area with a bar that stays open late. Overall, the layout is ergonomic. I stayed in a female dormitory with a private bathroom; the bed linen was clean, and there was a convenient locker for every guest. Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, it is simple but sufficient, including omelets, pastries, tea/coffee, vegetables, and fruits.

Unfortunately, there are issues with cleanliness; both the bathrooms and the shared kitchen need more thorough cleaning. The bathroom lacked hooks or shelves to place personal belongings. Additionally, the shower diverter was broken (water only came from the overhead head, not the handheld sprayer), and the water did not get very hot. A major drawback was the central air conditioning system. In June, with an outside temperature of 23-24°C, it was not hot enough to warrant such intense AC; the room was freezing, and we all had to huddle under thin sheets to stay warm.

Good location, excellent staff and delicious breakfast. ¡Recommend!

- it is VERY loud from the corridor. even after 23:00. you can hear everything, all the doors close very loudly so you cannot sleep without earphones/plugs. - you can't go and take for example your water or cola from the fridge after 23:00 - my salad even though it was properly labeled disappeared from the fridge - no place to keep your clothes in the room, not even a small shelf or anything, for more than one night it is quite uncomfortable - for me, the place is overpriced as for a hostel, after this place I moved to another one which was central, quiet and 3 times cheaper
