Casa do Morgado

We loved Casa do Morgado so much and you will too if you understand the nature of the area you're going!  These are remote villages in the Portuguese mountains. A glimpse of the old Portugal! The construction and the layout of this granite house is amazing! We are not big users of air conditioning but it was appreciated in the bedrooms during these hot days.  We had good adventures hiking in the area and found several beautiful swimming spots.  We (I) got much better at driving on these mountain roads! The ideas and information provided by Carlos were very helpful.  The advice to bring all food with us was vital!  We cooked nice meals and took picnics after buying all our food in Vila Real. (The grocery store in Mondim do Basto is excellent also).  We were so glad to visit a part of Portugal that was a off the main track.  Some great little villages that still show the real Portugal. We also spent lots of time just relaxing at the house.  

There is no patiseria in Bobal to buy natas! :) (Or we never found one). We gave Carlos some direct feedback about a couple of little house details and he was receptive and responsive. We were a bit challenged by some of the mountain roads because we aren't used to them. But really, we loved that too, once we'd calmed down!

Check in muito prático e com as informações todas sobre a casa e sobre a zona à volta. Gostámos imenso do espaço, cozinha muito bem equipada e casas de banho muito limpinhas. Alojamento preparado para ter bebés e crianças! Aconselhamos este alojamento!

A única coisa apontar, não desvirtuando o conceito de casa antiga ao pé de espigueiros, é apenas o conforto dos colchões das camas, se fossem um pouco mais confortáveis não fazia mal. De todas as formas dormimos muito bem!

This was our second time staying at the house and we loved it again! The place is very comfortable and well taken care of, making us feel at home. The location is excellent, perfect for nice walks in the area. We truly enjoy staying here and would definitely come back again!

We really enjoyed our stay, but there are a few things that could be improved. The kitchen was not very clean when we arrived, and it was missing some utensils that would make the stay more comfortable – for example, wine glasses, a baking dish for pizza, and a non-stick frying pan.
