Bear House B&B, Ensuite room above the Brachio Cafe, Colyton

We had a lovely stay! The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable, with a great bed and a spotlessly clean, well-appointed bathroom. The location is excellent, with convenient parking nearby, and the village is small, peaceful and full of charm. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the owners were incredibly welcoming, helpful and kind. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!

Very quiet

Nothing

Room 3 (2nd floor), the Attic bath/room, was spacious with a good view out of the roof windows. Room 2 (1st floor) was a good size, with a view across the street to other houses in the village both had great views of St Andrews Church bell tower, which chimes the time. We stayed mid week, so were offered a continental breakfast. The crossaint & pain au chocolate pastry's were delicious, as was the barista made coffees. Paid parking (£3.30) close by, otherwise can park in neighbouring streets if you can find a park. Great pub next door for dinner (The Kingfisher). Friendly owners & breakfast staff member.

No defined steps for check-in. Very steep stairs to rooms. Smelled of urine (?) when we arrived. Furniture stacked in the hallway at the bottom of stairs. Only 1 crossaint available for breakfast. Room 2 was a bit depressing, more decorations are needed on the walls to lift the colour. St Andrews bell tower chiming throughout the night - if you're a light sleeper you may want ear plugs.

Good breakfast
