The Malins

We arrived 30 mins early after a remarkably good journey but we were allowed to leave our bags in the house and put our chilled food in the fridge so that we could go out and eat before the local pub stop serving Sunday lunch. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for 6. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. We had everything we needed to enjoy our week in the Cotswolds. The location was peaceful, the off road parking was great and the garden had several seating areas. The village had good amenities with the local shop and cafe and two pubs. The set sri lankan menu at the Crown was superb and great value for money. The Great Western was a bit expensive for food midweek but did a great Sunday Lunch.

The small double bedroom shower was almost impossible to use with a combination of the cubicle size being so small and a lack of water pressure from the mixer shower. When we did try to use the shower it didn't drain until we flushed the toilet. Having said that it was great to have an ensuite toilet and the shower in the main bedroom was electric and worked really well so our friends kindly let us use that, as the main bathroom had a bath but no shower. We did have a few issues with the fridge not keeping our food cold enough when the weather was exceptionally hot but the outside temperature was 36 - 37 degrees so I suspect it wasn't the only fridge struggling to cope that day.

Was well equipped and very spacious inside. Loved the old furniture in the home.

2 of the bedrooms didn’t have showers working well at all with very little pressure on them! Also water wasn’t draining down either! TV’s need to be bigger and the one in the bedroom the remote didn’t even work as I’m sure the batteries had died.

The house is has plenty of room and is well equipped. Great base for exploring the Cotswolds. Blockley village was interesting and nice walk. Father Brown is filmed around the area

The house is old fashioned- mostly in a good way but some parts need an upgrade. The two end bedrooms toilets are noisy and the showers very poor especially for hair washing

Really well equipped kitchen. Very quiet location, with a lovely little front garden as well as the back courtyard. Spacious and homely.

The manufacturer instructions for the cooker were useless. We found the hob a challenge, and rings kept switching off. It might be useful to provide a simple one pager on how to use it. The water pressure in the 2 showers which aren’t power showers was very low and unusable at times. Maybe not a lot can be done, but it would make a real difference if it can.
