AVOID AVOID AVOID. Charged full upfront for a falsely advertised and shabby property w nuisance host

Weather was great. It was August in high season when we stayed

Falsely advertised as 4 restaurants on site. ZERO restaurants on site when we arrived. House was very shabby, uncared for, rundown shower was unusuable. Bed posts were worn, pillows were dirty and old. Issues were raised with the host during our stay but the host did not engage in either a professional or timely manner. Additionally despite being advertised there was No garden furniture for a booking of 7, barr two old chairs No games room No onsite restaurants No bar No picnic area No equestrian centre, just a couple of horses and some sheds Appliances were broken, window slats broken, house plagued with insects and flies from overgrown bushes on decking. Host was a nuisance with messaging me before our stay. She contacted me on my private number after midnight and before 8am on a Sunday morning. Contacting a guest in this way outside of the app is in breach of policy. . Water cut out during our stay. Host suggested we ring Uisce Eireann ourselves! She lacked the regard for her guests to even offer us drinking water. We would not return. We were misled about what we were sold, paid upfront, non refundable. Too many other places to bother with one like this. I logged a complaint about this place and the host rang me several times challenging me. Again her (aggressive) behaviour is in breach of policy. Booking.com were not helpful regarding my complaint. It was originally ignored and ultimately, due to the unprofessional manner of the host whereby she refused to acknowledge my complaints, I was left in limbo with no customer service or aftersales care. Booking.com did not respond to many attempts to contact them. It seems they were unable to handle the host and so my complaint was then ignored. This host showed no respect for guests or policies and booking.com took little responsibility for this. The handling of this situation was wholly unprofessional and a nightmare to have dealt with. We did not get the relaxing holiday we paid a lot of money for.

Incredibly private and quiet but within close proximity to the town. The communication from the owners was excellent, making the booking experience and access to the property easy and stress free which was just what we needed.

Quiet and peaceful in a lovely warm well equipped home.

Location perfect for our needs.Lots of walking trails and on site equestrian centre.House was roomy,very well equipped and ideal for a family break.Beds really comfy and lots of space for everyone.

Absolutely amazing! We’ll be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Drumcoura Lake Resort, even though there is not much to do during lockdown, the views around this cabin are spectacular, with only walking distance from Drumcoura city. The cabin was immaculate, everything we needed was there! The beds were super comfy. Michelle the host is lovely and was just a phone call away if we needed anything. I highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!!
