Perfect getaway
Stayed in owl hut for 3 nights in December and it was exceptional. The space was small, but you have everything you need. Cosy bed, kitchen stuff, great shower, TV (not that it was used much with us) and great wifi. Lovely touch as well - we had butter, milk, welsh cakes and mince pies waiting for us on arrival. There is also a great BBQ set up and a fire pit. This was amazing and used every night - with wood delivered each day. Nothing better than watching fire on a cold evening with a glass of port. The location was amazing. You are basically in a back garden, overlooking woodland, so you feel in the middle of nowhere. Local pubs, villages are close drive so you have the best of both worlds. I know I will be back soon to enjoy again soon. For a solo trip away, a couple, or mates, this is perfect.

Perfect escape
EVERYTHING. Directions to the hut were clear. (You have to read instructions prior coming as everything has been laid out properly the owners)
Parking is easy and convenient. Gated private area which is great for dogs. The hut was very cosey with nice use of space - they managed to fit a kitchen and a shower with that small space! The hut faces a space of woodland which is very relaxing (If the weather didn’t suck, we would’ve chilled in the wooden table right outside the hut). Their area is near hiking places as well. And self check in is the best highlight as we’re introverts. :D

Relaxing cosy stay
The property was lovely and cosy and warm had everything you needed.
Bed was comfy and the little hamper left was a bonus. The welch cakes made was delish 😋
Rich the property owner was accommodating and it was a shame we never got to meet Bonnie ( highland Cow ) Unfortunately we had to leave handy due to family emergency but hopefully next time we can make that meet !!! Definitely recommend and look at booking again. Thank you for a lovely stay 🤗
Only criticism I can say is there was no explanation on what to do or where to go on arrival. I did try the main house no one was home at the time so ended up having to contact the property owner but no answer. Only for my husband going for a wander found the hut and seen keys left in door for us we was able to gain access.
Also maybe a little fence with a gate at side of hut as we brought are small dog and was unable to let him out without having to put his lead on as the area was left open

Where to start or finish. Everything about this hut was amazing. Thank you for all the little things like a cup of milk,tea,coffee,bread and those wonderful welshcakes. It was so peaceful and it was fitting to wake up and listen to an owl hooting away.

Weekend getaway in cosy Dolgellau
This was the perfect little getaway hideaway for my bfs birthday. It's in the ideal location, 20 mins away from Barmouth, 40 mins from Victoria Inn Pub and Shell Island. The directions/link provided at the time of booking was spot on, and we found the location easily.
Upon arrival, there is a post that is a designated car parking space for users of the Owl Pod. We worked out by walking up the little slope to the right where you park, and following it around, you find the pod with the key ready for us in the door. There was no mention of what to do upon arrival at the property, so we had to wing it and hope we didn't have to disturb anybody in the main house. Thankfully, the pod is easy to find and everything is ready to use.
We were provided with towels, bread, Welsh cakes, tea/coffee, milk and sugar. We also appreciated the bottle of water in the fridge too. There is a kettle and Toaster, as well as a small induction hob if you needed it. There is cutlery, mugs/glasses and pots and pans. It really is kitted out very well.
If you were thinking of doing a bbq, there was one. However, we did not use this. There is a lovely seating area outside the pod directly, and to the right, there are two chairs around a fire pit. It was blissful to sit out in the morning, and there is a very tamed robin who will come into the pod and take food from your hand if you have the patience to wait.
The bed was very comfy, and the mattress was like memory foam. There is a little bit of storage under the bed where we kept our shoes and begs went under the chairs. The TV does work as well, if you wanted to crash out and chill.
On their website/booking.com there is a list of local places to eat/drink, shop and visit which makes life easier if you've not been to this part of Wales before.
It was very cosy and snug in the pod, and it has everything you need for a lovely weekend getaway. We will most definitely be back in the future :)
The only downside of being in the pod at this time of year was how warm it got. While it was cosy and snug, we did end up kicking the duvet off and wishing there was a window we could open. There is a tiny one in the bathroom, but we didn't have anything to wedge the bathroom door open, and we didn't want to leave the front doors open.

So cute. Very quiet and peaceful. Host left bread and butter and preserves for toast. Tea, coffee and milk were also left for us. In the morning a little Robin walked into the pod. Absolutely delightful. Would definitely stay again. What a beautiful place.

A very cute pod with everything you need is just off the main road however it is so quiet and you wouldn't know when you're surrounded by so much greenery.
The hosts were very helpful at putting something out front to help us find the location.
It has it's only toilet and shower microwave fridge and cooker. The welsh cakes left for us were amazing and we went out to get more 😆
It's very close to loads of local attractions and is very good value for money.

Perfect cosy getaway
There was absolutely nothing that we didnt like!
Perfect location, stunning area. The value for money was incredible, so much is provided and the hut is beautifully decorated and set up. It was toasty and cosy and the perfect relaxing getaway we needed.
I would love to come back and have time to make a bbq and spend a few more nights here!

This isn’t a criticism as such as photographs do show this but it is extremely small. Cooking, eating and getting ready inside for two of you is a challenge, particularly if poor weather means you can’t be outside. There is very little storage so we’d advise packing light!!

Such a gem! Totally peaceful and isolated. At one with nature. Very friendly owners who leave you be but have thought of everything. Loads to do in the area and we woke up to birds on the table every morning. Such a cosy place. Bring bird seed!

Lovely overnight trip to the Owl Hut - it was our first time staying in a pod and it was truly fantastic! Everything you needed all in one space! The facilities and little details were brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our dog loved it too!!
