I liked how lovely the location is and the restaurant is great.

The Assistant Manager was very informative and helpful. She was also nice and chatty, which we loved. The food was great value for money and a nice clean pub.
We thought the room was very expensive, given the location. It was more expensive than a night in an apartment in Glasgow

Nice view from the room.
Bathroom was freezing cold even with the heater on. Had a couple of issues which were discussed with the manager the following morning and pointed out, which were going to be dealt with.

Staff were amazing and friendly
Room was clean
Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and there wasn’t anybody from the hotel there.
We were left to burn to death.
Fire brigade said they’ve turned the alarm off but it was at our own risk to go back in.
Also said it was a a breach of fire code.
I raised it with management in the morning and they didn’t even know what went on.
No apology, no concern, didn’t deal with any complaint.
Apart from that one incident the hotel was great.
If you’re happy to risk a fire at night and being left alone then book away 🤷🏻♂️😂

Location , dog friendly, surrounded by fabulous walks

Location brilliant. Great walks around area. Dog friendly throughout
Several stains and holes in the walls. Brown stains on bathroom doorframe. Small TV. Blind was broken. The walls are like glass and you can hear everything. Corridor/ stairwell leading to rooms needs serious refurbishment. Breakfast not even included in the high price. Poor lighting in room also.

Location is quiet and relaxed, rooms are clean and functional with excellent facilities in the bar downstairs for evening dinner and breakfast
Only one comment, could do with bigger TVs in the room but wouldn’t affect my decision to stay again

The location was perfect. Loved the Swan,s and Ducks. The bar was very nice clean comfortable staff very friendly.
There was no straight way from the room to the bar you had to walk around the building to get the bar with was no biggy but it would have made it easier. The weather at the time was extremely hot ans do was our room no air conditioning and the heated towel rail was on all night it made the room like a sweat box their was a tower fan but it was not powerful enough to keep the room cool enough.

Andy and staff looked after me really well during my one night stay (I was biking the John Muir way). Friendly staff, good food and the room was comfortable and secure. The setting is pretty, right on the canal and it was great to sit out on the terrace and have a beer after a long day in the saddle!

Main restaurant and bar area good.
Rooms tired.

The staff at the hotel are lovely, especially the manager. The rooms are really spacious and the beds very comfortable, if you like soft beds, which we do. Lovely location right on the canal marina.
The only drawback is that you have to walk outside from the reception/bar/restaurant to the rooms and when we were there it was raining heavily and we got wet... take brollies... the bar closes at 10pm...

Staff were amazing, helpful and friendly. The view and setting were stunning. Breakfast was great.
The sound proofing was non existent. Banging doors, people talking felt like they were in the room. Fan in bathroom was tapping ALL night and kept me awake.
Decor was a bit shabby paintwork marked and scratched.

Sad to say but not great beds not comfortable wearing wrong size duvet cover on bed. Food average, whole place needs a lick of paint
Needed refurbished. Not great for what was supposed to be a luxury room

Room was big and comfortable, very clean and lovely veiw of the marina.
Cleaners were a bit loud and chatty when cleaning other rooms, could overhear their conversation.

Really nice stay, staff were friendly and the food was was good, plenty of vegetarian options. The vegetarian breakfast was really nice, all good value for money.
Only slight negative was the loose toilet set in the bedroom. Also the shower partition kept swinging out, might want to do some minor maintenance in the Montrose room. USB points would be a nice extra.

The location, the restaurant, the staff, the room and the food was great 😊 was so nice sitting out in the deck for breakfast and dinner, it had a very laid back feel 🙃
The fact that you had to go outside from the room to get to the restaurant, not good when the weather is bad 😔

large rooms, great dog friendly pub on site with big menu to choose from.
All staff members we encountered were really friendly and adored our dog too.

Service and food were exceptional, even though they were short staffed we felt very well looked after.
We felt that the boat house management are really making an effort to improve the hotel. There is plenty of parking directly outside the hotel, a pleasant decking area too.
The towels and bed linen were clean and good quality. there was plenty of tea/coffee etc in the rooms and nice toiletries. Water in the in-room fridge and our friends had a small bottle of Sherry and 2 glasses in their room!
The rooms need a little attention, they are dated and a bit dingy. the mattresses are thin and feel cheap, that said we weren’t really uncomfortable. The housekeeping could have been better, ventilation in the bathrooms needs attention and the carpets were bumpy.

We love the Boat House. Clean comfortable room. Super food (beer could be better!) and dog friendly. The location is the star - fab dog walk along the canal and onto the Antonine Way.

While the bedrooms could do with a bit of TLC, they are clean, a good size and very comfortable. If you overlook the harbour your in for a treat at sunrise. It's a lovely location with easy access to Glasgow. The staff are welcoming and go out of their way to provide anything we need. The breakfast in particular is superb.
