Carpe Diem Vaticano

Die Lage mit der nähe zur Metro ist optimal, auch kann man gemütlich zum Vatikan laufen. Der Host war sehr freudlich und flexibel, wir konnten auch etwas früher einchecken.

Das Badezimmer war leider nicht wirklich sauber, in den Fugen war Schimmel und die Duschabtrennung und der Duschkopf verkalkt. Im Kühlschrank wurde auch nicht geputzt.

The elevator it’s a bit old and scary but works right

Anfitrión muy simpático y pendiente durante toda la estancia. Habitación cómoda, camas cómodas y aire acondicionado. La ubicación es excelente, muy cerca del Vaticano y a 5 minutos de paradas de metro (Ottaviano, Lepanto). Además, el barrio es excelente, bonito, tranquilo y seguro, muchos bares, restaurantes y muy bien ambiente.

The location was one of the property's strongest points. It was conveniently situated close to a metro station and within walking distance of the Vatican, making it easy to reach most of Rome's major attractions. The building itself was charming, featuring a classic old-fashioned elevator that added character to the experience. The neighborhood was also quiet and peaceful, providing a pleasant atmosphere away from the crowds while still being well connected to the city's main sights.

During our stay, several issues occurred that made the experience quite unpleasant. First of all, there was ongoing renovation work on the exterior of the building. A large scaffold covered the entire outside wall of our room. One morning, while my partner and I were lying in bed, a worker literally walked past our window and looked inside. While the situation was somewhat funny in the moment, it was also a serious privacy concern. We were unable to leave the windows open because anyone on the scaffold could easily access our room. Given that Rome was experiencing very hot weather between June 4th and June 9th, keeping the windows closed made the room extremely uncomfortable. The second major issue was the air conditioning. Everything worked properly on the first night, but from the second night onward, the air conditioning stopped working completely. After contacting Daniele, we were informed that we would need to wait for a technician to repair it. As a result, we spent an entire hot day without air conditioning or any fresh air, which was the biggest inconvenience of our stay. Additionally, the shower was extremely small, making it difficult for an average-sized person to move comfortably inside. The bathroom also lacked proper ventilation, relying solely on the window for air circulation. Since we could not open the window because of the scaffold, the humidity remained trapped inside, and our towels stayed damp throughout our stay. To his credit, Daniele did provide a small €20 discount as compensation for the inconveniences we experienced. However, considering the extent of the issues, particularly the lack of privacy and the non-functioning air conditioning during a hot period in Rome, we feel that the overall quality of our stay was significantly affected.
