Not worth it

It's a great place to meet people from all around the world. And the location is right on the beach, which is truly amazing. They serve free water, which is nice!

Despite the positives, my overall experience here was bad. Coming from -20 in Europe to 30 degrees at night, the electricity was not working, and a dozen of us were restless in the room. No news from the staff, no backup generators (and I come from a country that loses electricity, we have backup generators that use gasoline). Plus, very crowded, literally no space for bags! I felt like suffocating, and I left the next morning, paid for a hotel. You have to watch where you step because there are bags all over the floor. People dry laundry on handles, on doors, everywhere. And showers are tiny, you'd better be very tiny and slim. And don't take breakfast! It's literally the worst I had in Brazil, 5% of your plate will be eggs, 5% fruit, and 90% will be hard bread. Just get yourself a nice tapioca from across the street (it's good).

The location is very nice but in the surf lessons they did not let me know that the wetsuit is not included so I needed

Nice and affordable

Great location and amenities. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It’s the perfect place to start your surf journey. They offer classes on site and all you need for it. The rooms are not the most comfortable but they work fine. I do recommend the women only rooms.

The location was amazing although the accommodation was very low standard

The location of the property was excellent

We was there 4 nights no cleaner in the room despite asking for this. The bins were overflowing very unhygienic especially in the bathroom. The room was definitely not clean the limited r kitchen utensils was dirty we did not use. I know there is a shared kitchen to use but the idea of the room choice was to have our own kitchenette. We asked if we could borrow a hairdryer we was sent to the other property longboard surf club approximately 50 metres away on arriving there I was informed they did not have it on returning to our accommodation I was informed they did not have one it was broken I asked if it was possible to have a kettle for the room I was informed this was not possible so drinks were made in the shared kitchen however the kettle also broke on day 3 and was informed we could use the other accommodation to boil water if it was required as they now did not have a kettle Reception staff I found very unhelpful The breakfast was also served at the other property I found this not to be enjoyable and there was 2 choices We only attended breakfast on the first day

Nice but could be better

Nice hostel located close to the beach. Really good place for surfing & has an overall really nice vibe.

Rooms were not cleaned enough and there are not enough bathrooms whatsoever. One female toilet upstairs that smelled really bad for my whole stay, the showers were not cleaned enough either. Also for a hostel situated so closely to the beach the floors, etc should be cleaned in the dorms more regularly.

Great experience!

The staff is very welcoming and it feels like being part of a big family. I love that it‘s so close to the sea and that they help you with everything you need. Toilets nearby the dormitory and common areas could be more, otherwise nothing to say. Enjoyed all the organised group activities very much!

Fake paradise

Got stolen there while I went out, the employee didn't want to go through the CCTV cam... the volunteers and staff is primarily females... Sometimes the towels cost money sometimes they are free depends on the client...

Decent.

Nice view of the beach.

They turned off the air conditioning on a 30-degree midsummer night because one guy was cold and was too lazy to put on a T-shirt so I spent the night on the top bunk sweating balls and regretting my decision to stay there. Also the kitchen is perpetually messy.

Superb

- The location is perfect - Very stylish room - Very nice staff - Perfect surf lessons! We were complete beginners, it was not at all frustrating but very much fun and we made good progress in only two days. Ask for Andrey as a teacher.

- It was not possible to open or close some of the windows (some windows look like windows in a church (coloured glass), which is very nice to look at, however some of them have little cracks) - The rooms have not many hooks which makes it hard for wet things to dry

Amazing staff, amazing place!

Prime location and amazing staff. I loved my stay at Longboard Surf Club! Shout-out to Barbara from reception and Eddie at the café who were so kind and helpful! It's amazing that there was a gym for guests too!

The bathrooms and rooms could be cleaner. I did like that they installed curtains in the middle of my stay there. It was nice. Maybe a screen for the window would be nice? My roommates and I could barely sleep one night because of the mosquitos. 🙈

Its nice but overadvertized.

Great location, nice staff and the community space is pretty. Amazing for surf and super accessible for renting boards or booking surf lessons. The breakfast is good but you will receive everyday the same menu (a little pot of eggs, a little pot of fruits with granola and a bread with butter). It was good but I recommend not book the breakfast included since it will be everyday the same with no other options.

I think you can have a good time in LP but overall my experience didn't match the expectations I had due to the social media advertisement. The kitchen is poorly equipped. There was not even a cutting board and the kitchen only had two "portable" heating plates with 3 compatible pots. Its was really difficult to cook a proper meal with this equipment. There was also no water heater or something similar and max. 3 cups and around 10 fork and knifes in total. Overall the hostel is clean, except of the kitchen. Besides surf, the hostel offers not many activities. I asked at the reception what I could do besides surfing and the answer was like "nothing".

Not to repeat (bad value for money: the hostel survives due to lack of competitors)

Location: just in front of the beach (great for surfing).

Very bad cleaning: especially in the shared bathroom (it was always dirty and everything wet) and in the kitchen (it does not encourage you to cook anything, besides because it is very very small and with hardly any utensils). The three-level bunk beds: if you got the top one, it is like climbing a mountain, and you pray not to fall when you go down asleep in the morning.

Sad to leave!

The location is perfect - right on the beach opposite the surf. The facilities are lovely, very friendly and homely. The surf instructors are incredible, so friendly, patient and kind.

There is very little room to dry equipment and store your belongings. The lockers in the dorms are small and there is no where to hang things around the bed or in the room. Some hooks on the wall would be perfect. The restaurant attached is expensive.

A great surf hub!

This place is a real surf hub and there is a real vibe going on. It's a great place to socialise and the safe a beautiful beach is right in front just like a big choice of restaurants. The yoga classes (twice a week or more) were let by a very good instructor and they have a restaurant in the hostel that serves good breakfast. Also nice hot showers with strong stream.

Being a beach hostel, everything (bathroom, kitchen, couches in the pool area) was always wet even if they kindly ask people to use a different entrance when coming back from the water. I was always seing cleaning staff working in the common areas though. The kitchen is also pretty small for such a big hostel.

Good hostel with nice staff, could do better with cleaning bathrooms

The surf vibes were definitely there! The lessons and board rent were a bit pricey, but also very good. Specially the teachers knew what they were doing, giving good tips. The hangout area had nice spots and the beds were comfortable. The location is perfect and just beautiful. All in all a good hostel with nice staff!

The kitchen was dirty when I came there for a long time, but when I asked to clean it up it was done in no time. There were only a few bathrooms, and some of them didn’t flush good. The showers were not as clean as I would hope them to be. The dormitaries had a lot of beds.

Perfect location with great abd kind staff

Location is incredible, simple straight on the beach. The staff is super kind, everyone speaks english and they always have a smile for you. You can rent also boards for a super good price.

The bed is 1,80m which is for tall people like me quite a challange, at least in the doorm. I don't know if the private is different

Amazing location, decent wifi.

Breakfast (bread and butter with a mouthful of coffee) is absurdly overpriced. For the same price, you can eat a buffet breakfast in other hotels or go wild in a nearby bakery or cafe.
