Has everything needed for a long stay. Very roomy. Good location. 5 to 10 mins to convenient stores. Kitchen is clean and has everything we needed. Tatami is comfortable.
Some rooms don't have blinds. Sunrise was around 5 am during our stay in the summer. Those rooms get very bright early and hard to sleep. It would be nice to have some blinds.
Only 1 toilet downstairs. Stairs is very steep and narrow. It can be hard at night. But, It is a typical Japanese house. Just have to be careful.

We are a family of four with two large teenage boys and we loved our stay at Gion Rokudo. The location is absolutely fabulous, with many amenities such as restaurants bars, groceries and other shopping very close by. If you want to stay in a beautiful, authentically traditional Japanese residence, this can't be beat! We loved the tatami rooms, the bath and the layout of the house. There was plenty of room for all four of us. We absolutely loved our stay here, highly recommended!
