A great little spot for a couple of nights at the end of the Caminito del Rey!

I thought the whole place was great, and I was particularly pleased to find that the pool was still available for a dip. I have no hesitation in recommending it as a place to stay in order to do the Caminito del Rey.

Access by car was an adventure, but doable with the instructions sent by the host. I wouldn't like to tackle the unmade roads in a fancy sports car, but my LWB VWT5 van fitted, just.

Tranquil & Serene accommodation

Carlos & Ana were the perfect hosts ! Refugio de El Chorro was tranquil & serene. The location of the house was close to all facilities in the El Chorro town and also a quick bus trip to the beginning of the Caminito del Rey walk. We would highly recommend staying here, if only to sit on the verandah and take in the breathtaking views that it has to offer. Thank you for such a perfect location!

Fabulous, unforgettable, perfect.

Fab location, extremely helpful owners. Caminito del rey walk finishes at the area, so no need to take the car. The house welcomed us with a bottle of wine. The house has a coffee machine that makes very nice coffee. The pool was nice, it has a jacuzzi function (but water temperature depends on weather, so don't expect hot water). Wifi is strong, neighbors are quiet, very cosy house. You can do bbq, sit outside to eat, it is handy to bring food ingredients as the local supermarket is usually closed according to the locals. There is a nice restaurant at the train station, which is 5 minutes walk. Perfect stay for couples or families.

Fantastic apartment, especially for climbers

The apartment is fantastic. We felt at home at the moment we arrived. The terrace with the pool is simply great. The kitchen is well equipped, the bed is very comfortable. The host is very friendly and sent detailed instructions how to get there. If you want to go climbing it is the perfect location.

It is not the fault of the apartment but you should be aware that there is only a very small supermarket in the village with strange opening hours.

the beds were comfortable and the air con was good. the views are great and everywhere is a 5 minute walk to town. the outdoor terrace has a fantastic gas BBQ and sink for outdoor cooking and has a choice of sunny or shaded areas to sit in. it's very clean and modern inside

A nice property in a great location

A nice and cosy apartment which is tucked away between other properties. There was access by gravel/dirt road. This continues for a nice walk up to the rock faces through the trees and great views. There was also a short-cut to the main centre and down to the south access to Caminito del Rey. The owners were very accessible, providing clear directions from the train station to the property. They provided logs for the real fire. This was gratefully received. There was a power cut whilst there, but the fuse box was in the lounge and the switch could easily be used. We were glad we had the real fire on at this point and used our mobile phone torches to access the fuse box. The TV has access to Internet with accounts loaded, which was a welcomed bonus. The Internet is good, the TV buffering is to be expected in this location (don’t change anything once a movie starts!) It was good to see the climbing photos and info on the area - I will return for a climbing tour!

Whilst in a central location, access to the property is up a steep, gravel/dirt path. Don’t follow the Google map direction, you need to get to the trainstation. There was no hot water in the sink and limited or intermittent hot water in the shower. It appeared that there was an optimal position for the tap to be in, changing this just slightly meant that the water would run cold. This was not good when in the shower. We were grateful of the electric bar heater, so not to get too cold. The water seemed to be OK in the kitchen. We were not expecting to use the plunge pool - this would be great to use in summer. We booked the property to visit El Chorro and Caminito del Rey - the property was a great location and contained everything we needed for our 2-day stay. Thank you to Ana and Carlos for a very welcomed stay.

Nice surroundings, a private space, easy to get in touch with the hosts in case of questions.

This is an excellent house if you want to experience El Chorro and surroundings. There are hiking trails nearby and beautiful views from the house. The kitchenette is well equipped. No oven but an outdoor gas grill that worked well. To get to the house there is a steep walkway and there are several steps inside the house between the rooms as well, we had no problem with this, but it’s not obvious when you look at the pictures of the house. This might be useful information for other guests. Our hosts were very attentive and helpful. Other useful information: We stayed here in January and there are 3 air source heat pumps in the house, one in each bedroom and one in the living room. This means that the other spaces are quite cold in January of course. In the bathroom, there is infrared heating above the door. We had a problem with the hot water in the bathroom sink while we were here and our hosts were not able to fix it during our stay, but it will surely be fixed until the next guest arrives. Great to be able to make a fire!

The water tap in the kitchen - to get hot water, you have to open it fully and as a result water splashes everywhere... The front door is a double door made of metal with a clumsy and difficult-to-operate lock.

Location for trekking and climbing was good.

Advertising states a swimming pool, there was not. There was only a small plunge bath. It was the end of November very cold at night and no logs or fuel for fire. House was freezing at night. There were no candles provided to give light when electricity constantly fused.

A perfect cosy cottage in the mountains.

The location was a fantastic base for all the hikes and local activities as well as the cosy home from home vibe with everything we needed. Ana and Carlos are lovely hosts who made sure we were looked after and we’d definitely stay here again.

it was very comfortable and beautifully presented. Carlos was very attentive and answered our questions immediately. the situation was wonderful with great views. it was perfectly situated to access the Caminito del Rey and outstanding surrounding countryside. great for bird watching too.

we liked everything… except perhaps the dog excrement on the path to the house but is not a complaint

Cosy rustic house with a modern well equipped kitchen in proximity of the El Chorro climbing area. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The house was very neat and reasonably comfortable. We would definitely consider it again in the future.

Water heating only started above some threshold throughput. This was no problem in the shower, where the throughput is high, but when washing dishes, it was slightly annoying.

Skaista vieta, nost no galvenā ceļa, baseins, vīns. Mājoklis iekārtots ar stilu un gaumi. Viss nepieciešamais uz vietas. Viesošanās ka "laukos" ar gaiļa dziesmām un jēru blēšanu. Visu mūsu palikšanas laiku pie mums viesojās melna kaķene, saimniece teica ka neesot "homeless", bet mums savs priekšstats.

Apgrūtināta piekļūšana ceļa remontdarbu dēļ kā arī saimnieku vājās angļu valodas prasmes un neskaidri ceļa un piebraukšanas norādījumi. Trūkst norādes kura ir tā īstā mājiņa, labi ka kaimiņi bija saprotoši un izpalīdzīgi. Duša praktiski neizmantojama vājā ūdensspiediena dēļ. Beidzās gāze ūdens sildītājam.

Schöne Bauernhaus

Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet. Die Lage auch gut. Man hat eine tolle Aussicht und absolute Ruhe in der Natur. Die Besitzer sind auch sehr hilfsbereit gewesen sowie die Nachbarn. Ein lokales Restaurant ist fußläufig erreichbar. Eine süße schwarze Katze hat uns täglich besucht. Wir haben uns während unseres Aufenthalt um sie gekümmert.

Leider wird die Straße zu dem Haus renoviert. Die Eigentümer haben uns einen alternativen Weg geschickt, der nicht ganz einfach zu finden ist. Wir haben uns dafür entschieden das Auto neben dem Hauptbahnhof auf einem offiziellen Parkplatz abzustellen und haben den Weg zum Haus zu Fuß gemacht. Ist nicht so weit gewesen.

Vivienda idílica para realizar el caminito del rey y desconectar

Las vistas y la piscina, la casita se encuentra en el medio del bosque a pocos metros del caminito del rey, la hace idílica para las personas que quieren realizar el sendero y disfrutar de una par de noches. El Mercadona esta fuera del pueblo, les recomiendo pasar a comprar antes de ir a la vivienda, de resto todo bien.

Piękne miejsce. Widoki cudowne. Blisko do Kanionu, kolei, sklepu. Basen i grill super. Wszystko jest i nawet kawa co jest rzadkością. Dom duży nie widać tego na zdjęciach. Myślę że można zrobić lepsze zdjęcia. Obecne nie oddają wielkości domu i klimatu.

Wir haben uns in der Unterkunft sehr wohl gefühlt! Die Einrichtung ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet – persönlich, stilvoll und gemütlich. Der Kontakt war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Die Lage ist angenehm ruhig und gleichzeitig ideal gelegen: perfekt sowohl für den Shuttle zum Caminito del Rey als auch für den Ausstieg nach der Wanderung. Klare Empfehlung!

Aufgrund einer Baustelle in der Nähe der Unterkunft stimmte das Video mit der Wegbeschreibung leider nicht mehr, und auch der Google-Maps-Link war nicht ganz aktuell. Ein aktueller, detaillierter Hinweis zur geänderten Wegführung wäre in diesem Fall sehr hilfreich gewesen.

Exceptionnel et inoubliable

Le logement est propre, spacieux, meublé et décoré avec goût. Il est très agréable. La terrasse, la cuisine extérieure avec un BBQ, une table, des transats, une petite piscine très agréable avec des bulles et surtout une vue incroyable rend ce logement exceptionnel ! Si je reviens à El Chorro ce sera sans hésiter dans ce logement que je conseille à tout le monde.

L’accès est un peu compliqué avec une grosse voiture mais en y allant doucement c’est faisable ! D’autant plus que c’est provisoire dû à des travaux au niveau de la gare. Le logement est également facilement accessible à pied en venant de la gare mais il est préférable d’avoir un sac à dos plutôt qu’une valise à roulettes car le chemin est caillouteux et il y a des escaliers.

Het huis is voorzien van alle comfort. Het uitzicht vanaf het terras is perfect. Het is er rustig. Nette keuken, badkamer en zitgedeelte. De verhuurder is heel informatief, via Whatsapp. Minpunt, het kostte ons toch veel moeite het huis te vinden. Ondanks de instructies per video. Misschien kan iemand er ondertiteling onder zetten. En een richtingpijl op de laatste afslag zou mooi zijn. De slaapkamers zien nauwelijks daglicht. Ze zijn wel koel daar door.

Para repetir sin duda

Todo muy limpio, super ordenado y con todo lo necesario. De las mejores casas rurales que he visitado. Con un toque tradicional y a la vez moderno. Nos ha encantado que conserve la esencia de casa antigua de pueblo pero rehabilitada con mucho gusto. Piscina super coqueta y con unas vistas de pelicula. El entorno maravilloso. La amabilidad de Carlos que en todo momento nos dio instrucciones.

Por poner algo las almohadas que son demasiado blandas para mi gusto, pero lo compensa todo lo demás.
