A lovely stay in a tasteful family home.

Breakfast was delightfully presented and excellent food. We considered ourselves fortunate to share time in a lovely family atmosphere. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

Car parking was a little difficult as other guests could box you in if you arrived first - but overall a minor issue.

Fantastic breakfast. The hosts were very amenable to our requests for a very late check-in and EV charging. We had an enormous bedroom with the most comfortable bed. A great experience.

Lovely old house

Lovely house, very large and tasteful decor. Huge room and tea making facilities. Frederic was very helpful and gave us directions to Tours for a restaurant. Lovely breakfast prepared by Caroline.

It was no fault of the proprietor that the temperature was extremely hot that night. We opened the windows but the house was on a busy corner and the traffic was very loud.

Beautiful property and friendly hosts

This is a beautiful guest house, tastefully and imaginatively furnished, and parking is secured with locked main gates. Access to Tours is best achieved by using the local tram system, and the tram stop is only a 15-minute walk away. Our hosts were charming, friendly, and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. We would certainly recommend La Maucanniere to anyone wishing to stay in the area.

Really worth a stop during travels through France.

I really enjoyed the lovely breakfast with home made tough yet and jams, fresh bread from the local baker, all in a beautiful setting. Good place when traveling by car as you can park in the garden. 20 mins from town with the tramway around the block.

It would have been nice to know about the possibility to order a light meal/nibbles and wine in advance after driving for many hours.

The whole experience was excellent, greeted by a friendly husband, made to feel relaxed and nothing was to much bother. Given advice on location to eat for supper. Breakfast was also great, Above all else the House was superbly decorated. Thank you.

There was nothing we didn't like. There was a very handy folder in our room on the house and about the local area, restaurants etc, but all in French!!! A English version would be good as I know you do have regular English cliental.

What an eye for detail. From the softness of the towels with the logo stitched on it, the room key ring, the cushions and the soap in the bathroom, to the delicious home made yoghurt, the eggs and jams for breakfast. And also the possibility to charge our car (no fast charger). The bed is great as well as the bathroom. The family owning the mansion is lovely and doing their utmost to please their guests. We loved getting a peak of their daily lives watching the children in their pyjama's on this early Sunday morning. The behaved great, they we're even hushing to not disturb us Do not forget to read the story behind the life choices of the family in the room guide. It's worth it. We spent one night and could not follow the tips but I'm sure they are worth trying. We would not doubt returning when. We are in the neighborhood again

A wonderful home visit in pretty house in central location for visiting at least a dozen Loire chateaux, churches, medi

warm hospitality, house with charming family with three joyful, amazingly well-behaved young children and a beautiful black rare breed of rabbit, Carrote! the house’s second floor where there are five guest rooms was rehabbed in 2020 so it has all new bathrooms, en suite. It is decorated with pretty blue on white ,traditional, Toile de Joue prints on duvet, blue and white tile bathroom floors lots of pretty pillows but not fussy, in serene colors. it is utterly charming. our hostess is an excellant Baker and each breakfast she served a different French specialty pastry such as Madelienes, a fruit jelly traditional confection cake of Touraine, a sweet Burgundy traditional, petite cake. homemade yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice. The soft- boiled eggs are served in egg cups under pretty cloches.

Our bedroom needed a dehumidifier. While outdoor and indoor temps in 70s were perfect perhaps because no heater nor air conditioning was needed nor running it was damp.

Unhygienic conditions around food and not exactly as advertised

Beautiful setting and room

There was a rabbit in the breakfast room. Apart from the shocking lack of hygiene,I am allergic to animal hair and when I mentioned this to the owner, she just smiled. It is very very far from the city centre despite advertising to the contrary. Despite advertising free private parking, we were asked to park in the street as the other guests had arrived before us.
