Absolutely perfect for Florence; the apartment is only a few steps from the train station with frequent and cheap train travel into the heart of Florence (and to Pisa airport). So much nicer in my view than staying in an overpriced place in over-crowded Florence. Prato itself is very pretty and the apartment is in the old town, only a minute away from the central square and the castle beyond it.

Air con only works in summer and apparently is permitted by the town council only if room temperatures are above 26 degC. The house has excellent thermal properties and the apartment can be temperature managed but if, as us, you are from cold Scotland then you might struggle a little after all.

Comfortable and beautiful apartment with good facilities. Good location, very close to the train station, affordable parking nearby (at the train station, 6€ per day).

There was a lot of noise at night, many people and cars passing by on the street. I don't recommend sleeping with the windows open. The bathroom floors were not cleaned properly.

Ricorderemo con piacere il comfort termico di questa dimora, costruita per contrastare naturalmente le giornate più calde. Esiste un sistema di climatizzazione, ma nel nostro caso si è rivelato superfluo. La vicinanza estrema con la stazione ferroviaria fa temere un prezzo da pagare al rumore, invece è molto raro che si avverta il passaggio di un treno. Si dorme benissimo, quindi, e altrettanto bene va con la cucina e il bagno, non grande ma ben progettato (soprattutto nella doccia). Però la vera comodità resta la facilità di spostamento verso le tante mete interessanti della Toscana, Firenze e Pistoia in primo luogo. Da non trascurare, va comunque detto, anche le risorse di Prato, città che merita più attenzione di un semplice punto di partenza.

La mancanza di ascensore è quasi una costante dei palazzi storici, come è questo. Portare i bagagli comporta una certa fatica, ma vale la pena per tutti i pregi che questo alloggio può offrire.
