Easy key collection from the owners. They show you to your caravan and give you all the information needed on the heating etc. We had a small issue with the operating the fire but the owners grandson was very helpful and sorted things with his grandma's help. Nothing too much trouble!
Great communication prior to arrival and Hazel checked in by text just to see if things were OK.
Nothing really, well, the weather, but it is February and it is Scotland, so that's what you'd expect! 😂

I really loved the location of the accommodation. It was very close to the mountains, and when entering the complex there was a small waterfall, which made it feel very special.
Just a five-minute walk away there was a beautiful beach. The area was very cosy and comfortable, surrounded by mountains and close to the water. The views were absolutely stunning.
Every morning we watched the sunrise, and the scenery was truly breathtaking.

Quiet - when asked the Site Manager supplied high chair for our granddaughter immediately
Some fixtures are getting a wee bit old/well used. Bed and linen were very good as was the three pieces suite. White goods looked brand new.

Very peaceful location with nice walks.
Comfy lounge area with leather suite.
Bed not comfortable, had to sleep on top of another duvet to stop springs digging in. Gas grill wouldn't stay on when using other areas of the cooker, had to hold the knob in to keep it lit.

Would love to see the tower restored so it will continue to stay standing for many years to come

I was looking for a dog friendly glamping and The Ashcroft popped up on top of the suggestion. When I booked it, I had only two things in my mind: budget and dog friendly. But the moment I stepped into it, I was blown away by it's transcendental beauty. Each and every room is designed painstakingly with contemporary fixtures, paintings, and artifacts. It's a luxurious caravan for an economy price. I have stayed in many hotels but nothing can come closer to The Ashcroft.
The Ashcroft is surrounded by infinite beauty from lush green field to mountain with water falls to lochs. The highlight of the place was the waterfalls which was right near the entrance of the park. The beach was a five minute walk and the Ardentinny village is a 10 to 15 minutes walk.
Alan and Hazel are exceptional hosts with full of warmth. They have kept the caravan in immaculate condition - a truly world class stay. One can see their years of hard work in maintaining that place. When our tv's signal couldn't work, they immediately changed the TV box. All in all The Ashcroft is a self catering caravan hidden in Scottish wilderness. I would highly recommend it!! I sincerely cannot wait to go back there again.
Honestly, there's nothing I can pin point. There's no internet and this might look like a set back. But the whole reason why we chose was to escape from every day life. It gave us time to introspect, talk and appreciate nature who we have taken for granted.

Great location, host showed us the property and how boiler worked and told us where we could take the dogs for a walk. They then left us in peace to enjoy our stay .
The accommodation was clean and the decking was great for our two young dogs.
Beautiful scenery and views. Lots of trails around within walking distance including the beach so no need to get back in the car to drive to them.
I would recommend on stocking up on food though as the nearest shop was a garage on the way to dunoon about 15-20 mins by car but it is well stocked with essentials or 30 mins to dunoon where there is a large Morrisons
I had read negative reviews about it not being paved and no paved parking spaces . On arrival the owners apologised for the gravel drive muck (it’s October so totally to be expected !) they are/we’re in the process of tarmac/concreting the entrance road during our stay weather permitting. It did not interfer with the peace or tranquility and a lot of the site is already done .
The couch was quite uncomfortable but chairs were okay

mattress. also the ongoing works to the roads on-site. maybe this should have been mentioned at time of booking. 2nd visit to this site but may be the last because of this.

nice comfortable caravan with big decking.
the road on the site was very dusty, no proper parking next to caravan. No towels provided and was not aware there would be no towels.

Beautiful, clean caravan with everything you could imagine. Lovely view over the fields to the loch.
The outdoor bench collapsed when we sat down on it but fortunately no-one was hurt. Will certainly be replaced as it was worn out.

Host was brilliant, very helpful and just generally lovely. The property itself was amazing. Lots of room, very clean, very cosy and comfortable. The perfect place for a stay with friends and our dogs. Thank you again x
Nothing to do with the property, we liked everything - but Booking.com over charged us for the property and instead of refunding us, gave us a site credit which was slightly annoying! However, as we often use Booking.com we have managed to use the credit towards another stay.

The caravan itself was very modern and was very clean, it had great views from the decking. The site is very well situated with close by walks and a beautiful beach. The site itself also has an interesting history.
The caravan site was not well presented, it was more like a building site with diggers and tractors and building materials all over the place. There was not much for kids to do on the site itself. The beds were very uncomfortable and hard as bricks. I would suggest investing in better beds or toppers. The refuse area was also over flowing with rubbish.

We had a lovely getting at the bungalow. They showed us to The Ashcroft, showed us how to lock up and with the boiler. Then when they saw we had a 5yo with us she showed us where to get free buckets and spades to borrow. Not only that but she then went and picked us a few while we unpacked.
They also provided excellent directions to the beach which is a short walk away.
The home was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. They have a quiet policy on the park and it was quiet every night.
The view was wonderful. A waterfall in one side and water out the other. The park is in the middle of a few different woodland walks. There is also a beautiful small walled garden nearby too.
As advertised it is very remote with no shops nearby to buy any essentials, thankfully the hosts had told us this beforehand.

Hazel & Alan we’re exceptional, they couldn’t go out of their way anymore to make sure myself, mrs and daughter were looked after from start to finish. Great park, and located brilliantly if your after nothing but peace, quiet and spectacular views.
Nothing at all, highly recommended.

We tried to make pizza in the oven but the gas kept turning off so wasn’t able to use the kitchen as much as we wanted to.
